Full Day Trip Hadrian's Wall and The Borders from Edinburgh

Follow in the footsteps of the Romans while taking in the bonnie scenery of the Scottish Borders Travel south following Dere Street, an old Roman road which was once the main trade supply route, to your first stop in Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders. You will have time to view the magnificent Augustinian Abbey and grab a coffee. We make a stop at the scenic Carter Bar where the tall stone pillars and national flags mark the crossing between Scotland and England. Get a glimpse of Hadrian's Wall as we travel along it's south side before stopping at the beautiful Steel Rigg. Follow the wall as it snakes over the crags, with lake of Crag Lough in the distance. Included is a visit to the archaeological site of Vindolanda. Exploring this site provides an insight to the lives of those who built and lived at this Roman fort. Lunch available here.
