New Orleans Weekend Garden District Food & History Tour

Home to historic mansions, hauntingly beautiful cemeteries and giant oak trees, this district is the romance of New Orleans. During walks between stops, hear about culture, traditions, architecture and have history fun! It focuses on the different types of slavery; human costs, economic implications and abolitionist movements. It combines two guide narrations, one while in transit and the other on site at the plantation. We discuss how the institution of slavery created a world-wide economy that was part of the Industrial Revolution.
