Private Historic and Distillery Chauffeured Tour in Hiroshima

A wonderful day tour experience travelling in the comfort of a private vehicle, with an accredited driver. This is an in-depth tour of the history of Hiroshima—specifically, the events that led to the end of the Second World War—followed by a delicious local specialty lunch, which is also a show in itself, or your available preference. **Alt: You are welcome to substitute historic Miyajima the famed shrine island instead of Peace Memorial Park. Later we enjoy a guided tour and explanation of one of the top whiskey and gin distilleries in Japan, which includes a tasting. Please be aware that the availability of this tour as a whole depends on the distillery tour calendar availability, and ideally needs to be booked at least 7–10 days in advance. Time permitting (according to the distillery calendar), we may add a bonus visit to a serenely landscaped garden dotted with waterfalls and monuments.

Visit Izakaya and Hiroshima Yokogawa district

Visit Japanese Izakaya and raise a toast in Hiroshima’s retro Yokogawa district, and explore the streets to find its charms! The Yokogawa district, located adjacent to Yokogawa Station in the northwest of Hiroshima City retains a retro character reminiscent of the immediate post-war period. From Yokogawa Station, your local guide will lead you through an inviting shopping street to a district bustling with bars and taverns. During the two and a half hours of strolling the town while enjoying its vintage atmosphere, you'll drop by two restaurants recommended by the guide, where you can compare bottles of Hiroshima sake and enjoy delicious izakaya dishes. Of course, you’ll also have a chance to chat with your guide and others over drinks! This tour is also a great way to meet the friendly people of Hiroshima.

Hiroshima Ancient and Modern

The overall plan for a day in Hiroshima: Join me on a very memorable stroll through its ancient history via the "shrine island" Miyajima, designated one of the three most scenic sites in Japan and a World Heritage Site. Afterward, we'll return to Central Hiroshima to learn about its modern history with a tour of Peace Memorial Park and its monuments and museums including the Atomic Bomb Dome; however, if desired, I am happy to discuss customising your tour to include other attractions in my town. **The order of attractions may differ on the day depending on tides to provide the best possible experience opportunity for guests. Highly experienced professional guide fluent in the local language, providing anecdotes, stories, and in-depth easily understandable facts and information. As an experienced tour leader throughout Japan, I am also happy to assist your visit and provide itinerary information for your interest in other regions, cities, and towns in Japan.
