Bondi Beach and beyond

The eastern suburbs of Sydney have great beaches, history, lots of energy and vibrancy. The day starts at Bondi Beach and the best way to see this famous beach is by taking a walk along the promenade. We then move to the coastal walkway which winds around the scenic beaches of Tamarama and Bronte. Watsons Bay is next, where there is an option of doing a short walk to Hornby Lighthouse which provides spectacular views of Sydney Harbour. After Watsons Bay we head to charming Paddington to see quaint terrace houses and a submerged garden which was formerly a reservoir. At this point we will have a couple of hours available so there are a few choices to be made including a visit to Barangaroo Reserve, the Royal Botanical Gardens, the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge Pylon or Wendy Whiteley's Garden. A popular choice is Barangaroo combined with the Sydney Harbour Pylon. Your guide will outline the highlights of each of these places. A delicious lunch is included in the day.

This half day allows us to see some of Sydney's best beaches, Sydney Harbour and Barangaroo Reserve. We start at Bradleys Head and do a short bushwalk to some military relics with an interesting history. At Georges Heights we will see the Gunners Barracks and sweeping views of the harbour. We then head to popular Balmoral Beach for a stroll on the boardwalk and at Manly Beach a highlight is a walk via an aquatic reserve to pretty Shelley Beach. It is time for a nutritious lunch followed by a stop at North Head to enjoy the bush setting of the Sydney Harbour National Park and some outstanding views. We will then peruse several beaches to the north of Manly and on the way home we visit the new urban renewal project, Barangaroo Reserve.
