Being the third busiest airport in Australia, Brisbane Airport is located right on the eastern coast of Brisbane, approximately 14 kilometres to the north east of the Brisbane CBD. Check in facilities for all flights are on the ground floor, with all arrivals and departures on the upper floor. There is a multi-story car-park that is adjacent to the domestic terminal.
The international was completed in 1995, and is a four storey terminal building. Level 1 is used by baggage handlers, tourism operators and airlines, Level 2 is dedicated to arrivals, Level 3 is the departure lounges and Level 4 is reserved for check in. There is a five story car-park that is adjacent to the international terminal.
The airport currently has two runways in operation, with a third runway that began construction in 2014. Every year the domestic and international terminals handle over 21 million passengers. There are 26 different airlines that operate from the Brisbane Airport, which provide over 42 national and 28 international destinations.
Brisbane Airport is easily accessible by car, taxi, limousine and shuttle. There is also the Airtrain which runs from the Brisbane CBD and from the Gold Coast to both terminals at the airport.
