At 9:30 AM, we start our adventure with a hotel pick-up to the base camp. Upon arrival, we receive a safety briefing, gear up, and have our bikes fitted. Then, we shuttle to Monthatan Waterfall, where we begin the 11 km hike to the Hmong Hill Tribe Village at the summit of Doi Pui National Park.
The trek takes us through stunning highland jungle, filled with towering indigenous Mai Yai trees. After about 3 hours of steady walking, we reach the summit village at an elevation of 1400m, where our bikes and gear will be waiting.
Following a well-earned lunch break, we start our descent through the National Park on our mountain bikes. The approximately 2-hour (14 km) ride takes us down to Lake Huay Tung Tao. Unlike the hike up, gravity now rewards us with a cool downhill ride, offering views of the beautiful Mae Ping Valley.
Lakeside, we enjoy a proper meal with cool drinks and take a dip in the lake before heading back to our Chiang Mai hotel. We will return around 4:30 PM.
