Louvre Museum Skip-the-Line Small-Group Guided Tour

This family Louvre adventure explores one of history’s most fascinating civilizations: ancient Egypt. This educational program is designed to encourage kids to think like archaeologists by using the Louvre’s world-renowned Egyptian collection to bring people from the past back to vivid life. Children will explore key areas of Egypt’s civilization such as the Nile River, a scribe’s workshop and a pharaoh’s crypt. In each area, children will learn to engage meaningfully with key objects using a variety of thinking tools to understand what they say about ancient Egyptian beliefs. Young archaeologists and their private guide will voyage down the Nile. In each area, decode a series of symbols allowing you to proceed to the next stage of the adventure. As a final challenge, learn how to write your name in Egyptian symbols. Please note that we do not send the tickets in advance. You will acquire the entry ticket to the Louvre directly from the guide.

Paris 1920: Lost Generation Writers of the Left Bank (Small Group Walking Tour)

There is a famous saying : “Everyone has 2 countries, their own & France”. This was especially true for numerous artists, writers & jazz musicians between the 2 world wars, many of whom flocked to Paris not only for artistic inspiration but also to find themselves. Known as the Lost Generation, these were men & women who had suffered through WW1, a war that had taken 20m lives. They were all between 20 and 30 years old & questioned the old regime as morally bankrupt – seeking to build a new system. Eager to share ideas they would gather in the numerous cafés of the Left Bank. Many of these struggling artists & writers stayed in the area’s cheap hotels or cold-water flats. We will visit the places they lived, worked & partied, bearing in mind that the bohemian Left Bank of starving artists & struggling writers has given way to chic boutiques & high end bistros. Drinks not included in the price. School groups are welcome on this tour - contact us for rates.

Hemingway spent his formative years in Paris. Surrounded by fellow authors such as James Joyce, Gertrude Stein, Ezra Pound & F. Flâneurs of Belleville: A Self-Guided Audio Tour of the Neighbourhood's Art

Flânerie (or city wandering) is a cherished rite of modern Parisian culture. But how does one wander à la française? On this self-guided audio tour, we focus on the in-betweens of Paris: we will walk the seam between the historically and culturally rich neighbourhoods of Belleville and Ménilmontant, and explore lesser-known neighbourhood gems, history, and culture. At the same time, this tour will teach you the art of flânerie: how to wander a city and read it like a storybook, or play it like a game, rather than simply choosing the straightest and quickest shot from one famous monument to the next. Your tour guide, Jennifer Solheim, is a French and Francophone literature scholar.
