Zaanse Schans Windmills and Volendam Small-Group Tour from Amsterdam

The tour to Zaanse Schans Windmills and Volendam is a must do excursion. A great day trip from Amsterdam offering several beautiful sights. I really enjoyed seeing the iconic windmills and visiting the fishing village. Lots of great photo ops! The tour price is very reasonable especially since it’s a small group tour. I liked that we spent just the right amount of time at each activity without feeling rushed. We got back to Amsterdam mid-afternoon so there’s still time to do other things. Our guide, Tol, was wonderful! He is very knowledgeable and attentive to the activity levels of all participants. I would definitely recommend this tour to my family and friends.

The windmills were great, but our guide Ali, was absolutely the best part of the trip. Great knowledge, patience and enthusiasm for the trip.

Small group tour is the way to go. Unlike the big coaches we were only four in the group. Ali , our guide was great. Warm, friendly and informative, added to a fun day out.

Even in the rain we had a great day w/Ali...he is a great tour guide, very knowledgeable. Saw windmills, met the brothers who hand make Dutch cheese and wooden shoes (very entertaining), went to a farm to see how they raise the cows for the cheese...and then a wonderful tour of a fishing village where we had a great lunch.

Had a wonderful time on our tour. Our driver/guide was very friendly, courteous and informative. He took great care of us and made our trip very enjoyable. Transportation was very comfortable. Will definitely recommend this tour to friends and family considering visiting Amsterdam! Thanks!

What a great tour! To start with it was very easy to find the meeting spot. People should take the free ferry from the Centraal Station and it’s just a quick walk left! We were in a van with 2 other couples who were lovely which always helps and our guide/driver Ali was AWESOME! So knowledgeable, sweet, and funny! Never rushed us and suggested a smaller town instead of Volendam which was not crowded and perfect! Thanks Ali!

Our trip was amazing! Allie was very informative on the history and happily answered all of our questions. A true 10 out of 10 experience. We would highly recommend him and this company to anyone who would travel here.

Pros: Timely pickup, small group, and good guide. Fishing village chosen was quaint and interesting.
Cons: The windmill village is incredibly touristy and extremely crowded. We had to pay to go into the windmill, contrary to the itinerary info provided. We did not go to the cheese farm that was listed in the itinerary but instead were taken to a different location filled with tons of people. Cheese and Clog demo was 5 minutes each and useless. We NEVER went to the fruit wine tasting. I emailed the tour company for compensation for skipping this stop but they never responded. We zipped through the non-touristy fishing village which was the best part. I wouldn’t recommend this tour.
