Very touristy experience. Way too many boats allowed for the space, our boatman spent more time waiting for jams to clear rather than poleing. Reminded me of traffic in any major city.
Mariachi music was good. The guides were pleasant. Food average.

This tour was amazing! When we told them we were on our honeymoon, the guides were so kind and made sure we had a nice time. It was super beautiful and such a romantic activity for honeymooners.

It was nice to experience some of Mexico City’s authentic local culture and history, but was not totally what was advertised.
We booked a private tour with an English-speaking guide and transportation from our hotel. Our guide picked us up at our hotel - he was extremely kind and hospitable but struggled with English. We used a combination of his limited English and our limited Spanish to enjoy the day, but it definitely inhibited our ability to learn about Xochimilco.
In addition, I had done research of other tours, many which seem like party boats. I intentionally booked a private tour so we wouldn’t have a party boat and could learn history. When we arrived to Xochimilco, we saw that our tour was not private (neither a crammed party boat nor a completely private tour, but a small group tour nonetheless).
Overall it was a nice day and we enjoyed ourselves but not completely what we expected. Everyone was very kind and hospitable.

I think we went into this trip thinking it would be about more of the history of Mexico City but found Xochimilco to be excessively commercial with in authentic boats, boat traffic and vendors hawking their wares everywhere. Our driver and guide was wonderful but the boat tour itself was not.

Misael proved an exceptional, first class tour guide for our Xochimilco boat visit. His hospitality and expertise started from hotel pick up to hopping on the vibrant trajinero boat rides, totally immersing us in full culture. (Did I mention tequila & beer!) A delightful feast of carne asada and chicken mole, coupled with lively mariachi arrived on our boat, which allowed us to fully encapsulate the essence of Mexico's rich heritage. Misael created a memorable, and truly unforgettable afternoon. We will do this again and again, and highly recommend Misael!

What a wonderful experience all made better by our wonderful guide from Paseos Olmedo. When we go back to Mexico, they will be our first call for tours. They not only do Xochimilco but also Bravo Valley, Teotihuacan, Tolantongo, and more. I mention this because when we go to those places, we'll definitely use this company. The transportation definitely was premium (quiet, comfortable, spacious). Our guide was the best and made sure we had a great experience on the boats including food, drinks, mariachi, and more. Couldn't recommend more!

Interesting but very touristy. Must have been 100 boats fighting to get in and out of dockage. The trip was quick punctuated with a modest lunch. Occasionally a boat full of mariachis would serenade. There seems to be a misconception that the locals grew food in “floating” gardens. They really just filled in patches of the lake to form islands for farming.

From the moment Riccardo picked us up the tour was first class. He has great English and is so passionate about showing his guests the true Mexico. The lunch and drinks provided were absolutely superb. This was a once in a lifetime experience and I would highly recommend this tour. If your English speaking ask for Riccardo you can’t go wrong.
