Enjoy some of Mexico City’s must-see spots with our ‘Colors of Mexico’ adventure.
Your day begins in Coyoacán, one of Mexico’s most influential cities. As you wander its tree-lined streets, you’ll learn how this city played a part in historical empires like the Aztec and Spanish.
Then visit la Casa Azul (if option selected), Frida Kahlo’s home and now museum. We’ll immerse ourselves in the trailblazing life of one of Mexico’s most original artists.
From the inspired art of Frida Kahlo, we’ll head to the eye-catching Xochimilco and board a trajinera - a colorful, gondola-like boat - for a ride through the neighborhood’s famous canals. As you indulge in local treats , your guide will share the incredible details of what makes this area a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Before finishing the tour, walk around North America's oldest university and admire its Central Campus, another World Heritage site.

Lily, Tomas and Elisar were excellent tour guides. Coyoacan was the best part of the tour. I wish we had more time to spend there. The church here is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen. Xochimilco trajinera was very touristy and just a party boat ride with many vendors. I’d skip that adventure next time. I was hoping to get more information on the trajinera but that is not how the tour is designed. Sadly, we learned nothing about this place. Frida Kahlo museum was sold out.
While I don’t regret the experience, it’s not a repeat.

The tour guides were amazing. Eleazar was very informative and had so much information to share. He made this trip very meaningful and special. Lili was very attentive and provided us with tips, reminders, information, and a smile throughout the trip. Our driver Tomas was very friendly and professional. We felt very safe and are looking forward to booking other tours!

Very informative and interesting tour. Our guide, Salvador, explained the details very well. We had a short food tour as well in Coyoacan. He gave us free time to explore Mercado 89. Our driver, David, drove safely.

Very very touristy and if that's your think it was great. First stop was too an "artist" engraver, but it was really just to sell you a room full of chachkas. 2nd stop was the canal trip, soso and the mariachi band although performing made my daughter feel uncomfortable with their sexual innuendo. Lunch was probably the worst meal we had in Mexico City in our entire 8 days. The murals at the university were interesting and then there was the hurry up and wait for the Frida Kahlo which is why I assume 90% of people took the tour. I would highly recommend ubering directly from there to home saving you quite a bit of time.
The next time I am there and want to see Frida's home, I will just order tickets well in advance or pay someone to wait on line for me.

To be honest, I thought this one was going to be fun.
The problem is we signed up for the English tour - but when it came time to board the buses they put us on the "bilingual" tour bus (due to lack of space on the English one). This wouldn't have been an issue, except that:
1) the tour guide did the Spanish explanations in large chunks about things that were outside the bus at the time, so when she got to the English explanations there wasn't that visual context anymore
2) about half the time, the tour guide didn't even do the explanations in English. And if we can't understand them, that's like half the value of the the tour.

It was a good experience, especially the boat ride at Xochimilco. The only negative was an unnecessary stop at a souvenir store in the city that took up quite some time. Wasn’t expecting that.
