We go to the Cancun/Playa del Carmen/Tulum area at least once a year. We usually plan on visiting one Eco/Adventure park during our stay. So far, to name a few, we've been to XCARET, XEL-HA, XPLORE (twice), Rio Secreto and other smaller adventure parks for zip lines, centotes and ATV's.
XENSES is much different than the others. Photo taking is a big attraction for most. Really not our thing. The "fly like a bird" zip line is fun and we did that a few times. Missed out on the water slide. It seemed like it may be a little too much for us since we could not see it for the outside. The floating in the warm cenote and the clay river were very nice. The town was really unusual and could not figure out how they do it. The walk through the dark cave solo with just feel and NO visual is a little uncomfortable. Don't do this if you are not comfortable in small, dark areas. Somehow, they can see you, so if you just wave your hands they will come and get you. I should have asked how long to expect the walk through then I would have known what to expect. We made it through but had no idea it was going to take as long as it did.
Finally, it is expensive (approx. $110 per person) relative to the other Eco/Adventure parks in the area when you consider Xenses is at most a half day activity and no food is included. We were told food is not included because the attractions can make you a little disoriented. We are happy we did it but we would not repeat this one. All the other parks we have been to we would repeat.

We went to this park because it looked like an unusual place to get unique, mind-bending photographs. We purchased the photo packge in advance. When we got to the park, the photo viewing machines were not working, but the park attendants assured us that the cameras were working and that we would be able to get the photographs we wanted and had paid for. We took a lot of photographs. The park was so-so. There was a sensory walk through a dark, cave-like area. That experience was bizarre and a waste of time. They had a water slide, which was great; and the ride that soared through the air was fun. They had a "river" to float down, which was too shallow to allow us to float, so we ended up having to push off the floor to get ourselves down the river. That was followed by a muddy river that had the same problem as the first river (it was too shallow). Probably the highlight of the park was the town, which was basically a street. As you walked downhill the street appeared to be going uphill (very bizarre sensory experience, but interesting).

We received a code from the park to retrieve our photographs, which were were told would be available after 24 hours and that we would have access to them for 30 days. After 24 hours the photos were not yet available. After 48 hours, same story. After a week, same story. After two weeks, same story. When we would try to retrieve the photos we would just get a message saying that they were working on getting our photos. A couple of days after two weeks we tried to log in again and were told that our code was invalid (although it had been valid for the two weeks before then). We tried to call them repeatedly throughout the weeks, but were only able to get a busy signal. In the end, we did not get our photos. If you go to this park, do not purchase the photo package (which is one of the main reasons for going). So, my advice is to just skip this park, as it is overpriced and does not provide what it promises; and you run the risk of being cheated on the photo package.

Optical illusion town is a must do, we did it twice!! the park is small but the concept is amazing very detailed. The mud bath is a hit and miss you either like it or you don't. Either way it is something new to try! Make sure to get some lemonade at the end.
The xensatorium tour is pitch black and takes about 10 minutes but the scenic walk at the end makes it worth it.

What a place this is! Me and my brother came here a few weeks ago as it’s the only Xcaret park we haven’t been to and we loved it.

The setting, the activities are all fantastic. So many photo opportunities and it’s a great day out.

Highly recommend.

We had a good time. Only complaint is letting people know about the difficulty walking through the uphill/downhill town for people with mild walking difficulties. My wife has a bad knee and couldn’t safely navigate the town. She waited for my daughter and I to complete the adventure. Also the cost for the unlimited pictures were based on number in party so even though my wife was only in 10 photos they wanted me to pay full price for party of 3. ( they eventually gave us a discount).
Overall the experience was great. The optical illusion were impressive. Had fun and definitely would recommend.

Just a short review to say that this place was amazing.

It is very well set up and all the attractions are great.

- There was almost nobody there when we arrived (9:15 am on a Wednesday) and it still took my family of four 3.5 hours to do everything (including 25 minute lunch) except Xensatorium (line was too long and we would have missed our ride back to hotel).

- For anyone worried about what footwear to wear, don't worry. You can pretty much wear what you want because at all the attractions there is a main area before entering where you leave your shoes and do all the water/mud activities and then it loops around and you pick your shoes up on the way out at the end.

- I highly recommend getting there early and doing water activities first. No lineups and you can dry off after.

SPOILERS AHEAD -

- To get to El Pueblo (the village) you must enter from behind the giant heart where you take selfies in front of the heart.

- The waterslide is pretty fast and also goes into complete darkness towards the end before dropping you into the pool.

- To bypass Xensatorium or meet people at the end of it, take the dwarf lane on the right hand side - it will take you to musical instrument, lemon tree, waterfall oasis with flamingoes and underground caves with little lakes and bats and end up at the exit of Xensatorium.

Was told by David at the front desk our daughter could do some of the activities before buying tickets, specifically the underground caves. Got to the line and Carlos told us she couldn’t. I understand it’s a safety issue and it’s the rule but Carlos was very rude and said nobody told me that. Other than that felt pretty nickel and dimed inside and that extended to when it was time to leave. Apparently Xcaret tells cabs what to charge so it was $20 to get there but somehow $45 to get back. Obviously we just had to pay it at that point to get back to the hotel. Overall the attractions were nothing exciting, the town was really the only part that was pretty enjoyable, it’s mostly just a big photo op.
