What a brilliant tour combo! Whitney Plantation focuses on the stories of the enslaved people who built and worked the plantation. Great audio tour and the place is very well presented. Honestly it was heart-rending. Then back to New Orleans to learn about African American people in town - including the slavery story in the city. But the highlight was learning so much about Black businesses, musicians, artists and some of the hardship stories, including lots on Hurricane Katrina. Our guide was Jay, a local NO's man. Fantastic guide. Really brought the stories alive.

Excellent! Our guide/driver was excellent! Great option for solo travel or group travel
Jay was very knowledgeable and really educated the group on new Orleans on the urban culture tour. We had an opportunity to stop by the McDonough 19 School and speak with one of the curators of the Leona Tate foundation. Awesome!

JAY was the absolute best tour guide. The plantation + urban culture city tour is a MUST combo for new tourists. It is definitely a must in order to understand the rich history of the city. This tour gives you an insider look and helps you view the city through a more knowledgeable lens. Jay is a New Orleans local who is passionate about sharing his knowledge with the participants. He is very open to questions and has amazing energy. I loved this tour! I wish I would’ve attended towards the beginning of my trip to get the most out of the city. It is 1000% worth the price!
