The story of sugar cane was not told succinctly. Why was the work so hard how did this work affect the health of the slaves?

Best place to learn about slavery’s history. We really enjoyed our tour, which we could do at our own rythme.

My family and I really enjoyed this tour. It was about an hr drive to the plantation and Edward shared lots of great info and historical facts about the city not only to the location but even on the way back. We had 2 hours at the plantation and it was more than enough time to get through everything. We never felt rushed and took our time going through the audio tour. I would highly recommend this tour.

The Whitney Plantation centers its presentation on the experience of the enslaved people who worked there and in many cases continued to work there after the Civil War in debt peonage. It is a compelling and eye-opening story that is well presented and needs to be heard. The tour is self guided.

There were many options to choose from to book a Whitney your, but I’m glad we went with Legendary. Their communication was great, both texting and calling with courtesy reminders. Our driver, Dwayne, showed up exactly on time. Dwayne was fantastic! Friendly, conversational, he gave us insights and commentary on various landmarks on our drive. Normally I get nervous when other people drive, but Dwayne drove smoothly and the van was comfortable and clean.
We had two hours for the tour which I felt was ample. If you follow the recorded guide two hours is plenty. We didn’t feel rushed. On the way back we had a nice conversation about the tour and our views. He also gave us some information on things to do in NOLA during our stay.
I highly recommend that if you are in NOLA you visit the Whitney through Legendary Tours!

The tour was informative and thorough. I did 5he self tour and felt rushed though because I went via a bus tour. It was made quite clear that if we're not on time the bus would be leaving and an Uber would be super expensive. This thought haunted me throughout my tour??♀️

The display oh heads of those ⁸murdered after revolt. Insiteful. We did the walking self guided tour i found that using their sound system wasawesome easy to use and unlike a live tour guide you could repeat the information as needed.

It put everything in prespective what exactly happened. Sad but true. Hopefully we as a country learn from it, juror's still out
