I did a self-guided audio walking tour & I enjoyed learning about the history of the plantation from the African-American slaves'.perspective. It will take about 2 hours so give yourself time.

Brian was an excellent driver and guide to the plantation. The plantation itself is a worth while experience! So important to not forget the pass and learn from it! Would highly recommend both the plantation and the transportation services! We felt right at home with Brian and he set everyone at ease with his easy nature and humor!

The tour was informative. Gave an insight into our history that you only know by word of mouth or educating yourself to experiences that are available to you. When you see some of these homes in movies they look so grand and when you see it with your own eyes it brings things into perspective. Would recommend this tour.

Whitney brought to life the inhumanity of slavery. The institution dehumanized both the enslaved people and the slave owners

A self-guide audio tour on the property revealing a dark history we shouldn’t ignore. It showed the strength of survivors and the cruelty that others can inflict on fellow humans. Brian our driver was very knowledgeable a well. Plus he had a most wonderful laugh.

The audio tour at the Whitney Plantation was excellent. The tour is well work attending. My issue lays with the bus trip to and from the plantation.

We were told to be waiting for the bus at 8 am. The bus didn’t pick us up for almost an hour later. Not happy.

Brian the bus driver was very informative and funny. However I have concern regarding the safety of the tour. If the speed limit was 60 mph he frequently drove at 75 to 80 mph. He answered mobile phone calls while driving, answer text messages and looked at his clip board. A couple of times he had both hands off the steering wheel. My friends and I didn’t feel safe.

Also Brian left a passenger behind at Whitney Plantation after only waiting 2 minutes past the designated departure time.
