I booked this whale watching trip included my trip to Iceland. It was amazing. Dress warmly and then just look at the surface of the fjord. It was always announced which whale or what type of dolphin you saw and you could also receive the photos via Email afterwards. Thanks to the Crew.

Great for taking photos of seagulls and seeing the longest fjord in Iceland... it certainly had to be a whale watching experience, it would have been if they had provided a nice spotting scope!
The only positive note is the very knowledgeable guide who explains in detail whales that you don't see!

On April 14th, 2024 we booked a whale watching trip in Akureyri through TripAdvisor. We left the city center at 1 p.m., which was easy to find because the passenger pier was right nearby and we only had to walk a few meters. The crew was very friendly, the tour guide explained everything we needed to know about the trip in German and English. After setting sail, we didn't have to wait long until the first whale appeared. It was a really great experience, we drove back and forth in the fjord, 2 whales appeared and disappeared, we really enjoyed it, you won't forget it so quickly. The whole tour lasted 3 hours, then we went back to the harbor. You could look at and download lots of pictures from the day on the organizer's website, because an employee on the ship took lots of pictures with professional equipment. We thought that was really great, of course! The trip was a really great and unforgettable experience for us, thanks again to the great crew and the organizer.
I would book it again and again!

We flew from Reykjavik for the day. Great experience. Very nice restaurants and sites in downtown quaint shops. Friendly locals..totally worth it. Later in the summer may be better to see more whales.

We had the last tour of the day and the smaller ship called Konsull. There were only 20 passengers, so we always had enough space and perfect opportunities to take great photos and videos. Due to the fantastic weather, with glassy water surface, it was not necessary for us to use the warm overalls or stay in the cabin with hot coffee. We were able to see 2 humpback whales at close range. 1 porpoise was a little further away and unfortunately dived off as we approached. Our captain approached carefully and then let the boat glide on, without the engine, so as not to endanger the animals. Our guide Mac explained a lot and also took photos. After the the tour, his pictures were made available for us to download free of charge. The whole Elding team seemed like a family. It was a great experience and everyone should do it.

Great tour with the RIB. Breathtaking experience with a very experienced crew. Great opportunity to take great photos. The whales came within a few meters of the RIB after a while after the engine was turned off. An absolutely amazing experience.
