We were able to be closer to the whales than the larger boats! The captain was fun and informative and played great music as well to enhance the experience which I found fun. We even ad Dolphins come up to and around the boat!

Tour guides know nothing about the experience. Navigator instead of looking for whales just kept chatting with customers. Worst experience ever

It was a spectacular experience. The crew were so keen in finding whales. It was so incredible to witness whale breaching, i got goosebumps. It was not only but 2 whales that breached. I thought it was a 1 hr excursion but it was two more. So we had a lot of time finding and watching whales. Thank you the Magic Merman

We took the Magic Merman afternoon whale watching tour yesterday and it was the absolute highlight of our Maui trip! My husband and daughters (ages 3 and 5) had never seen humpback whales before; I grew up on Oahu and had been on many Navatek whale watching cruises (huge boats). This was SO much better than anything I’ve ever experienced!
We were on a smaller boat (20 guests max), which allowed everyone an awesome view—our captain maneuvered the boat expertly to get us within a safe/legal distance from the whales to enjoy the show. We got out to sea and quickly found a mother and calf—they put on an unbelievable show for a good 30+ minutes, with the mama breaching at least 9 times and the calf even more, and all so close to our boat. Our naturalist, Bethany, was so knowledgeable and passionate about the whales- you can tell she really love what she does. Bethany also used an underwater microphone so we could hear the whales singing- so amazing to hear!
Our three year old (who wasn’t initially excited about going on a boat) yelled “this is too much fun!” while watching in amazement and learned so much from Bethany. No one got seasick, they were kind and accommodating to our children, and even offered refreshing beverages to all. Cannot believe the incredible show my girls had for their first whale watching trip- would recommend the Magic Merman tour to anyone and everyone!!

The Magic Merman 2 hour whale watching experience was by far the best part of our trip to Maui! Bethany the marine biologist was onboard to give us a wealth of information and answer all our questions. We saw many whales closeup from this small, intimate craft. Competing males, females and calves as well as spinner dolphins! When the hydrophone was dropped into the water, we heard phenomenal whale songs! Beautiful! We felt safe and were well taken care of on our voyage. I highly recommend!

We had a great time on this excursion. We had numerous sightings of the humpback whale pod and also saw some spinner dolphins leaping out of the water. Captain Brady took us out to the optimal viewing locations and Bethany gave us plenty of details about the whales and their behavior. The water was a little rough so the raft was bouncing quite a bit and some of us got a good soaking with spray. Dress appropriately. Thank you to the crew for a great experience. I highly recommend this activity.

What I enjoyed, beyond the whales we got to see, was the care they took loading us onto their 26 person raft . They lightly beached a smaller zodiac rubber raft onto the shore, With that, we were able to safely load from the beach onto their whale watching boat. It was repeated until all clients were loaded; which took about 15 minutes to get this done. Time well spent for safety; which is precisely why I am leaving this review.

Really liked the smaller boat with less people. Saw whales up close. We did get wet but we expected that. It’s was very windy. Great trip.

What a great Experience! Captain Marina was great and Bethany was super informative and able to answer any and all questions!!! The pick up and drop off was super convenient.
