Whale Safari and Puffins RIB Boat Tour from Húsavík

We did the puffin and whale tour on a rip boat in may.
With Sarah as the captain and Mateo as our tour guide.
We got a cosy and warm overall to put above our clothes, and because it was very windy Mateo also gave us ponchos against the sea splashes.
First we went to Lundey, or puffin island. Mateo talked about how the live, what they do, how long they stay and so on. Next where the whales. We saw humpback whales, 4 of them. Again Mateo told us couple of facts about these whales.
We also went to a spot where Mateo and Sarah saw a blue whale in the morning, and it was still there!
We had a great experience!
It definitely was worth every penny! (It for sure isn’t he cheapest option if we’re talking whale tours) but I would do it again!

Truly amazing experience.
Simple reservation on the site platform. We went in May, and a reservation 2-3 days before was enough. The same day may be too short (our boat was full...)
The guide is great and speaks impeccable English. I think they are attentive to the well-being of the animals because we do not stay close to the same animal all the time and the guide specifies that we must leave them alone...
We hesitated for a long time with the excursion on the wooden boat (much cheaper), but no regrets! Many times we were just a few meters from the whales while the other tour was not yet there.

Great tour, saw lots of puffins and also some whales. Good descriptions from the guide. Speedboat with jet propulsion - so we could react quickly when whales were spotted

One of the most unforgettable experiences in Iceland during our stay - seeing not only puffins but a bunch of humpback whales and even a blue whale! We went with a 9-year old and were able to find a matching suite easily for her size (140cm), which made the experience nice and warm even with the cold winds. Our guide Matteo and captain Sara were really helpful. His commentary during the boat ride was easy to understand but very interesting and we learned a lot. They did their best to show us much as possible during those 2 hours which went by very quickly. Thank you!

The trip on the speed boat was a lot of fun. The guides were friendly and we learned a lot about the area and the sea creatures. The suits we were given kept us warm. And we saw lots of puffins and even a blue whale. We'd love to go again 😊

We booked a Whale Safari at the end of April. The boat ride itself was enjoyable; however, we unfortunately did not spot a single whale or sea mammals throughout the tour. Given the lack of sightings, we felt that the experience did not justify the expense. We cannot recommend this tour, especially at the beginning of the so-called whale season. Although we were provided with vouchers for a return trip, it seemed more like a marketing trick than genuine compensation. It's important to note that booking this trip at the start or end of the season significantly reduces the likelihood of encountering any marine life.

Incredible! Don’t miss this tour in Husavik! We saw whales and a cloud of puffins. The guide was attentive, a great boat driver and made sure that we didn’t miss a creature in or on the water. It was a little early to see any of the big whales, but we did see some Minky Whales. The landscape was breathtaking and I would absolutely do this again.

Tip: your ticket will also give you a discount to some of the local shops and restaurants. Pick up your ticket first and then go eat and shop.

We saw more than 10 whales and it was a great experience. The tour was very professional and fun. Would recommend to anyone!

amazing experience! I would recommend this speed boat over the big one even though it’s more expensive! you can easily get closer to the whales once they come to surface to breath
