Enjoy the tour of the recent volcanic eruption in Iceland. The tour is safe and along with the Volcano eruption adventure, we have added many other places to the tour itinerary to make the tour more and more enjoyable for our guests :)

WHAT'S INCLUDED

WHAT TO EXPECT

1. Reykjavik
Our day tour will begin with our fast and efficient pick-up service. We will come to pick you up from either, one of the hotels in the center of Reykjavik or from one of the many pick-up spots dotted across the city. When pick-up is completed then we will leave the city and begin our journey.
2. Reykjanes Peninsula
After leaving the capital, you'll travel to the volcanic landscapes of the Reykjanes Peninsula. The Reykjanes Peninsula runs along the Mid-Atlantic Rift, which divides the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. Despite its placement between two tectonic plates, no volcanic eruptions were documented there for 800 years. However, when the Fagradalsfjall volcano erupted in March 2021, everything changed. The eruption lasted 6 months and brought hundreds of tourists to the site with a spectacular show of fountaining red-hot lava.
3. Fagradalsfjall Volcano
Embark on an unparalleled adventure: bear witness to a live volcanic eruption and molten magma! Our knowledgeable guide will pick you up from Reykjavik, and together, you'll embark on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. The journey to reach the Litli Hrutur Active Volcano demands physical endurance, spanning up to 10 kilometers each way. However, the rewards are truly exceptional, offering breathtaking sceneries of vast lava fields and the captivating spectacle of an ongoing eruption. Upon reaching the volcano's location, you'll be privy to the beautiful formation of these lava fields, witnessing the mesmerizing display of fresh lava spewing and flowing.

Seltùn (Geothermal site in Krysuvik) - You don't have to travel far from Reykjavik to see vibrant geothermal sites, Seltún is one of those sites. Visiting Seltùn, like all geothermal locations in Iceland, is like entering into another universe. Seltún has both bubbling mud pools and boiling hot springs.
5. Kleifarvatn Lake
Kleifarvatn is the largest lake on the Reykjanes Peninsula. This area is well-known for its geothermal and geological activities, and the landscape is coated with a thick coating of lava. We will have a quick yet amazing drive by the lake.

Amazing tour! The driver Johannes was exceptional. He had alot of stories and knowledge to share on the way. We went just before the newest volcanic eruption happened, so we got to see the volcano that erupted two years back. The hike was moderate, we had breathtaking views at the top of the hike, and got to see seltún, kleifarvatn on the way as well.. definitely reccommended!

Have to say, Johannes was an exceptional tour guide. We had been in Iceland when a volcanic eruption took place and left uncertainty of what would be possible. Unfortunately the hike component was canceled due to restrictions and road closures from the eruption. We thought for sure the tour would then get canceled because what can you do?
Let’s just say when life gave us lemons, Johannes made lemonade or limoncello out of this situation and brought us to numerous alternative locations to make up for the hike being canceled. Even saw whales! Was a great experience and enjoyed seeing places we would of missed had the hike not been canceled but all the more reason to come back!

Would have loved to have gone on this tour. However company cancelled after midnight so woke up to a canceled tour with no time to rebook somewhere else. It was cancelled due to the driver testing positive for COVID which I understand but kinda surprised they didn't have a back up driver or canceled earlier in the day .

I could confirm my pick up because I stay at an AirBNB. I hoped to get to bus at stop #1 but as I approached the bus/driver he saw me and drove off. While I may not have confirmed on that bus, he didn’t let me ask a question. I contacted Viator and requested a refund. The communications were a problem. I did not see the volcano. The previous attempt was canceled by the tour provider. Bad form.

Fantastic trip Stefano our guide was great and knew so much about volcanos and liked telling us about the history, the volcano was amazing even had a rainbow appear the trek up was hard so you had to be fit but there was no rush to get up so you can take it a little easy, we also went to the larva fields and saw an active spa bubbling away and steaming which was fantastic he also took us to see a shrine dedicated to airmen who crashed in the second world war which was very interesting I am really glad I did this trip.

This is a story of poor customer services and communication.. We waited at an exposed bus stop for over 1 hour and 45 minutes, in the pouring rain, for a bus that never turned up . There was nobody to contact, the phone was never answered and their messaging service also neglected. We were finally contacted by this Tour operator nearly 12 hours after the tour was due to start, informing us the tour was cancelled.
I would personally have second thoughts about using this company, if this is how they treat their customers. For us it was a complete waste of a day, if we were told earlier, we could have made alternative plans

This was a cool experience. The hike is definitely on the higher end of moderate— you are essentially waking steep paths up the side of a small mountain, so this is not for everyone. Our guide was very patient with different paces of the group and didn’t rush the slower movers. Once at the top the sights were well worth it!

Despite puck up was delayed and I already gave up the tour was very nice. The guide was very nice and cool person. He did lead us to the very top to picture iconic views.
