I’m real big on experiences and this, was nothing short of an experience. I kept going back & forth about booking this experience because I kept reading mixed reviews. Some ppl loved it, while others thought it was meh. Ultimately we decided to experience the mud volcano. And baby what an experience it was. We selected the late afternoon timeframe so it was just my husband and myself in the volcano. VIP treatment for real. They have ppl in the volcano helping you get in and maneuver around the dense mud and they’ll also give you a massage if you wish. We declined. There are ppl outside of the volcano taking pictures with your phone to capture all of your moments. Once your done (and because we went so late, we cousins stayed in as long as we wanted) someone helps you get out, wipes the excess mud off of you and then down to bye river you go to get washed off by two ladies. A lot of reviews said they make you strip naked, that was not true in our case. They were very respectful and thorough with watering us down.
Once you’re done, they follow you back to your vehicle for their just due tips. To my understanding 10,000 cop is fair.
Our guide and driver Andreas was awesome. He was punctual, fluent in English and very nice and personable. I highly recommend this tour and company to anyone looking to experience the mud volcano 🌋

This tour was by far the best part of my husband and my whole entire trip to Cartagena! We absolutely loved our private driver, Andrés. He picked us up promptly at 6:30am and drove us to the volcano. The hour drive was great as he spoke English very well and educated us about the culture and the areas we drove through. It was great to see outside of Cartagena and how beautiful the land and rock formations were.
We felt super comfortable with Andrés as he explained the process when we got to the volcano. Go early and be sure to book the private tour. Else you will be in lines, in direct sun and in the mud with lots of folks. We had the whole little area to ourselves with our 2 massage guys in the mud, a photographer (using my phone) and Andrés translating for us on the platform. It was the perfect combination of experiencing the mud volcano, massage and the culture! Believe it or not the mud feels great on the skin and is warm. It actually felt soothing on part of my sunburn! Afterwards we took a walk to the water where two ladies rinsed and washed us from head to toe while we sat in the water.
From there we dried off and headed back to our hotel with Andrés. You might think we were still muddy but we really weren’t. Of course we still jumped in the shower to fully wash off, but it’s not what you would expect.
All in all, my husband was apprehensive for the first 3 mins wondering what I’d gotten him into but that quick went away as he really enjoyed it as did I! 6 Stars goes to this tour and Andrés and the team (Jesus and Juan?) that took care of us at the volcano!

Awesome Awesome Awesome.....we picked an early morning pickup 6am. Andres was very prompt. It was about an hours ride from our hotel. We LITERALLY had the whole volcano to ourselves for a whole hour. INCREDIBLE. We were back at our hotel by 9a. Andres was great, very friendly, knowledgeable about the country, very accommodating, stays with you the whole time, very safe. You pay alittle more for the VIP service but ABSOLUTELY well worth it. I HIGHLY recommend this tour.

Andres was amazing!!! We booked the 6am tour and were home by 830. We beat all the crowds and had a private mud volcano experience for about an hour. Andres was very knowledgeable and accommodating, would 100% recommend!

Andrés is an amazing tour guide! He was informative and thorough. Andrés made sure we had communication with the locals at any and all stops! He is friendly and kind. Now, the volcanic mud experience! WOW! The mud was warm and cool all at once. The feeling on the skin was amazing. We experienced a massage will soaking. Afterward, we were taken to the lagoon for an assisted bath. What an amazing experience. I highly recommend this tour!

We booked this tour last minute. There was amazing communication after booking about what time and who would pick us up! It was a private experience and Andres made sure our experience was comfortable and very informative! Would definitely book with Andres and Michael again! 10/10 experience:)

The volcano experience was very different but we enjoyed it as a family. We were anxious about the whole thing but went very smoothly. Felt safe and was a very laid back experience. We went early and so there was no wait and it was not crowded. Andreas our tour guide made us feel at ease. He also was very informative on the drive there and taught me a lot about Colombia. I would highly recommend the experience of especially if you book an early tour and can get Andreas as your guide.

This was a great tour. We had booked for a 7h30 departure and they suggested we switch it to 6h30. We are so happy we did! We had the whole place to ourselves.
Our guide, Andrés wa the best. I plan on doing the exact same tour with .y mom and again with friends. Same tour, same guide. What a cool and different experience.
