We have never left a negative review on Viator, until now. We have visited the Borghese Gallery in Rome twice before, but never with a guide. We were very much looking forward to a guided tour by a professional of the entire Museum complex.
Unfortunately, approximately ten minutes into the tour our guide informed us that the ENTIRE second floor of the gallery was under construction and ALL of the paintings had been moved about a mile away at the Barberini Palace and were set up on their second floor.
So, instead of a two-hour tour we received a 90-minute tour of one half of the Gallery. The guide did a fine job, but we paid for two floors. When we contacted Crown Tours they said they just found out about the closure the same day as we did. That is very unlikely as it must have taken awhile to tear down the exhibit at Borghese and transport the paintings to set up the exhibit at Barberini. Clearly this was a lie. In addition, as of yesterday their description on Viator still made no mention of the second story closure.
I would strongly advise against this tour unless they adjust the price for the missing paintings.

An immersive experience. If you come to Rome it is simply a MUST ❤️ It is a serious and reliable company :). My tour guide (Migo) was amazing! always worried about the details! :) excellent experience! I traveled alone and I really had a great time and learned a lot. I recommend it without a doubt 😊

Wonderful collection of marble statues of religious and mythological subjects. Gallery is in a beautiful park setting.

We went on this tour and had Federica as our guide. The upper floor was closed due to renovations and so Federica spent 2 hours on the main gallery floor, slowly taking us through each of the artworks in the gallery. Her knowledge of art history and specifically about the artists within the gallery and their works was amazing, and it was clearly evident that she is passionate about what she does.
She thoroughly explained the motivations behind each of the works and even outlined how the original positions of the works in the gallery and how the artists intended them to be viewed (for the sculptures) to give additional context

The tour was amazing and our guide Frederica was so knowledgeable that we would like another tour with her to include the second floor of the villa. Two hours is not enough to experience the beauty of this incredible place! The park and villa are such an amazing place to escape the often crowded streets of Rome and chill out at a calmer pace. Incredible!

A nice tour. Great guide. Half the place is closed due to renovation. Should have brought my own plug in headphones- theirs were uncomfortable. No neck straps for the audio set? Every other tour elsewhere provided them.

Frederica was an amazing tour guide for the Borghese Gallery. This was my favorite experience of Rome, partly because of her obvious passion explaining the art. She provided so much backstory to the Borghese family and the creation of the art and how to best experience the art as it was intended.

We were not told in advance that the second floor of the Borghese gallery was closed. Our tour guide was trying so hard to stretch our two hour tour through just the first floor and it became very tedious. I couldn’t wait to get outside and see the beautiful formal gardens…..
And they were so disappointing ( nothing like the pictures ). Our $90 tour ended 30 minutes early. Total rip-off.
