1. Palace of Versailles
Meet your guide in central Paris and enjoy a short, escorted train ride to Versailles. On arrival, let them take you on a journey in the footsteps of the Kings and Queens of France. During the reign of Louis XIV - the Sun King - Versailles was the place to be and to be seen. Nowadays visitors from all over the world still come to Versailles to marvel at the splendours of this incredible palace. Our skip the line access allows you to bypass the long lines that form each day, and our friendly local guides will steer you expertly through the crowds, bringing the famous figures who once inhabited this palace back to life.
2. The Hall of Mirrors
Marvel at the glittering Hall of Mirrors, and hear the stories of the Kings, Queens and courtiers who played out their lives in this sumptuous setting. You'll learn how the Kings and Queens lived out their lavish lives in public, how they kept the gossiping courtiers under their thumb, and stole Italy’s thunder by making Versailles the artistic center of Europe. Discover a typical day in the life of Marie Antoinette; you’ll quickly understand why she hated the palace so much! Her opulent lifestyle here would ultimately lead to her tragic demise under the French Revolution; she left Versailles in 1789 never to return.

Away from the crowds, see places that only Queens, Kings and their closest friends were allowed access to. King Louis XVI gave a key encrusted with diamonds to his beloved wife Marie Antoinette. It opened the doors to a secret world, far removed from the public life at the palace and accessible to only a few. Follow in her footsteps, through the beautiful English style gardens, into the elegant and charming rooms of her home, furnished today as they were then. You will also peek into her tiny theater, built specially for her so she could perform on stage, to small audiences made up of friends and servants! This stunning theater is often called the hidden jewel of Versailles.

At Trianon Marie Antoinette lived a simple, country life. You will discover her Hamlet, a perfect replica of a Normandy village, complete with thatched cottages and vegetable gardens where, far from the elaborate rituals of the palace, she would play at being a shepherdess surrounded by farm animals. No visit to Versailles is complete without seeing the beauty of the Petit Trianon and Marie-Antoinette's peaceful hamlet. For the comfort of your visit we will take the 'Petit Train' to and from the Petit Trianon.

This was the best tour we had while in Paris. Our guide was amazing and gave us incredible insights into history . His knowledge of French history was encyclopedic and he made it enjoyable. The tour was never dry or dull. If you have the time take the full day. It is well worth it.

If you're going out to Versailles, make it the day trip! Don't settle for the half day. Beautiful tour inside the palace itself and a small bit of the gardens for half day tour. After we let the half day people leave we got to see another side of the property that was truly amazing. It is a long day and a good bit of walking but everything was beautifully done!

The guide for the all day tour in Versailles on oct 19 was excellent-the best we have ever had. It required a good deal of walking ,several miles. The description indicated moderate walking. In addition the meeting place was unclear. It listed a street with no address.

This was a lovely tour even though we had a mother and daughter duo that were quite irritating and dominated our guide, Claire, but she handled the situation very well.

We were met by Olivier to begin our excursion to Versailles. He was warm, authentic and engaging. He hit us safely to Versailles and the palace entrance where he handed us off to Perrine.

What a fantastic guide she was, full of energy, in depth information and a charming personality. All smiles and tons of animated explanations made for an informed and extremely enjoyable afternoon. From the palace, through the gardens and the hamlet, Perrine was one of the best guides I’ve ever had. It was a long day with a lot of walking but she never had anything less than a welcoming smile the entire time.

Our full day tour of Versailles was absolutely wonderful! We did the tour on October 5, 2023. Our guide was the best! Extremely knowledgeable of Versailles, history, all of the best ways to see the sights and also told very interesting back stories of the history and people. He made our day one of the highlights of our trip to Paris. I am so glad we decided to tour Versailles with him rather than try to do it on our own. We saw the Palace, then walked thru the gardens, stopped for a lunch break, then went to see Marie-Antoinette"s area including the Petit Trianon and hamlet. And all along, our guide kept us informed and told great historical stories. HIs knowledge is Versailles was so impressive! We even went to dinner in Paris at a restaurant he told us about and it was a great way to end the day!

Claire was our guide. She did an outstanding job with not only show patient, but also very informative. The only disappointment we had was that at 80 years old we had read the literature and assumed that the mini train would take us back and forth to the Palace at Versailles in Marie, Antoinette hamlet. That was not the case. And addition to the walk from the metro station to the main gate and then after Turin the palace to take the long walk again, instead of the daily train to Marie Antoinette‘s, Hamlet was very difficult. If you do not include the ride, both ways, I suggest you give seniors the opportunity to purchase The extra ticket.

The full day trip to Versailles was a very informative and enjoyable excursion. We had Stephanie Foury as our guide and she was incredible. Not only was she extremely knowledgable about all aspects of Versailles, Le Petite Trianon and the Hamlet, but she was a pure joy to be with. She was attentive to the varying needs and capabilities of the group, and made sure that every aspect of the tour was handled in a professional and attentive manner.
