We did a private after hours tour of Doge’s Palace and St Mark’s Basilica. Adriana was our tour guide.

The tour is excellent especially the after hours private visit to the St Mark’s Basilica. To be the one if the very few people in St Marks after dark and to see the Basilica slowly light up from complete darkness inside is magical.

Adriana was very good and explained all aspects in detail.

We really recommend this experience

Venice can be overwhelming with all the islands, bridges, and sketchy (at best) signage (unless you are on a major thoroughfare). This was my third trip to Venice and I was determined to see more than the usual highlights or subject myself to one of the large tours. This tour provided that opportunity. Our guide was very knowledgeable. I thought I had a good working knowledge of Venice's history, but she filled in the gaps and provided many wonderful insights into not only the history, but how people lived in Venice in the past and present. My favorite part was the information on Venice's architecture, to the point where I could look at a building and make an intelligent guess on it's age and the age of any "improvements" (not unusual to have a 14th-century building with another story added in the 1600s). Also, our guide was very patient as both my sister and I use canes and Venice is a real challenge for someone mildly disabled. Our tour of Venice was one of the highlights of our 3-week trip!

Sabrina was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. The tour took us to the tourist sites but also a local market. The great advantage with Livitaly tours are the guaranteed small group size that gives the tour a very personal feel. Very enjoyable!

Our guide Pamela was wonderful. We had no problem meeting up with her. We were a very small tour group. Just the two of us and Pamela. We are so happy Livitaly does not cancel for undersized groups. Our tour even lasted longer than advertised, we just enjoyed each other's company. The skip-the-line is a great option because we saw the long lines. It is so nice to have someone point out each area of interest and be so knowledgeable. Pamela even arranged for us to use the elevator at the Doge's Palace. Our tour ended with a wonderful recommendation for dinner. The restaurant was Osteria Alle Testiere. It was delicious, Thank you Pamela!

Wow, we had the BEST day in Venice with our LivItaly guide, Marie...she is a great guide in that she was incredibly nice, knowledgeable and patient with our family of 3 teenagers ages 17, 15 & 12. It was a five hour walking tour through the fascinating labyrinth of Venice’s canals and squares, and Marie had such interesting stories and historical anecdotes about everything we saw...she really brought the history of Venice to life! We started at the Church of San Giacomo, then walked to many great squares and churches, including Marco Polo’s house, then St Mark’s Basilica and Doge’s Palace. We especially loved the Palace and seeing the prison and the Hall of the Great Council and hearing about Venice’s incredible history and the way they governed and their financial power as their own republic. Marie’s art history background, knowledge of history in general and overall love of the city of Venice was so apparent and appreciated! For lunch, she took us to the best pizza spot which my kids loved. We ended with a gondola ride which was a perfect end to a fantastic tour. Thank you Marie and thank you LivItaly...we will recommend you to everyone we know who visits Italy!

Mary was our private tour guide - really a friendly and knowledgeable guide in Venice. She gave us a thourough history of Venice, walked through many of the significant sights - showed us many of the significant structures, how they fit into Venice's history. Our tour ended at St Marks Basillica - amazing. We walked right in, totally bypassing what appeared to be a several hour wait in line. We really enjoyed the tour
