The most amazing food and culture experience imaginable. I presented so much and really enjoyed the family, the food, the cooking experience, the market tour, and all of the knowledge and friendly professionalism of the whole occasion.
This was not like the village cultural night and nor the discover Nadi tour (for the markets). It's an entirely different experience to anything else we found here and just loved it so much that I hope all visitors get a chance to do this amazing experience. 10/10, no doubt.
The food we cooked together and the knowledge of traditional foods, recipes, and cooking techniques will be with me for life and for that I'm grateful. Beautiful people.

This is a wonderful experience to do while in Fiji. You are involved in the preparation and the story straight from the start, lots of opportunities to learn and join in, and the food is delicious.

The whole team were so friendly and engaging and Anna and Sam went the extra mile to fit us in when we had limited time left on our holiday. Such a fun day with such lovely people and of course lovely food.

Jone - your kava was nice but not as strong as you thought (either that or Scots have an inherent tolerance of it 😄)

Anyway, I’m awake and able to wholeheartedly recommend Vavavi (ask them what the name means); the food is excellent, the explanations and stories superlative and the people… I now feel like I have a new Fijian family (next time we’ll get a Drua game in Sam).

Seriously, this is an experience off the tourist beat and a wonderful insight into some traditions, a cooking style I have wanted to try for over 20 years and the salt/lemon/chilli condiment…. I’ll leave you to discover that yourself but you’ll thank me (and Sam). Set 😄

Did this trip with my mom and we both would definitely recommend it!
Sam and his family were amazing, great people who made the experience better for sure :)
Lots of different things to do/try during the day. You are very much involved in everything, which makes it very fun as well as interesting learning about their culture.
We had a great time, loved to help make the food and try it. Even tho I did not love the taste of it(picky eater), I'd still definitely recommend for everyone to try this for the experience <3 my mom liked the food a lot better than me, and i'm sure most people would :)

Family run and great for family fun. A fun and relaxing day that was educational and interactive. They were flexible and responsive to ability level and engagement desire - even the two year old toddler in our group was included. The food was incredible and we felt accomplished for having meaningfully contributed to preparing it. We came away with appreciation for and with fresh understanding of all the steps that go into Lovo cooking.

Spending the day with the Vavani family is an experience we will never forget. Learning the history of the Fijian people while participating in the preparation of our meal in the traditional way, visiting the market and the kava ceremony are memories we will carry with us. The family members are so welcoming and engaging, we enjoyed the laughter and our time spent with them. Thank you for a wonderful day!

I rated this 5 out of 5 because I really loved it. I went with my family, and got to help cook all of the food. We then buried it, and then had some tea. We learned how to husk and open a coconut, as well as making coconut milk from the coconut. This was an amazing experience, and I would really like to go again. After that, we went to a temple, went to the market, and got some sweets. After that, we went back, ate a delicious lunch, and then had some Caba. This was amazing, and I hope others will say so too.

Amazing experience! We were looking for a traditional cookery course but this was soo much more. Sam, Anna, Lute and Jone were amazing, we learnt so much about the Fijian culture and cooking techniques and did it all ourselves too. It was an unforgettable day, thanks so much!
