Our driver/guide Asis arrived late in our hotel the time indicated on the voucher for pick up is 8:30am and we had to call the tour company to follow up, the driver arrived 910am.
At around 10:00am, Upon arriving Vaux Vicomte, Asis the driver just brought us to the entrance, gave us our tickets and told us to be out by 11:00 am I told him that the voucher indicated a transport service of approximately 6 hours for the price we paid which was €780 (€390 per head). He said he doesn’t know about how much we paid he just said he was instructed to bring us back to our hotel by 12:30 and that he cannot extend long because he had 2 more clients to pick up after dropping us off to our hotel. We agreed to meet him at 11:30am outside the chateau but we got lost going outside and was only able to get out at 12:30. We spoke to the driver but he said he cannot wait and that he will just arrange for a taxi to pick us up, we told him that we can do that ourselves through the Uber app but we paid for a transportation service with Aviator to bring us back to Paris but the driver left us. We just booked ourselves an Uber to go back to Paris.
This is very disappointing that the tour group overbooked their van and did not prioritize us, the voucher specifically indicated APPROXIMATELY 6 hours, and the total time spent for us is only less than 3 hours which I think is very unfair considering we paid €780! And to top it all, we were left in Vaux le Vicomte to ourselves and had to bring ourselves back to Paris via Uber. Very disappointing experience Viator…
NAVETTE EXPRESS is the name of the transportation company which I guess had a partnership with Viator. I demand for this partner of yours to be reprimanded. Thank you.

Our driver took us through the gardens with an electric golf cart. This was great since I
have mobility issues.

Most tourists visit Versailles. And it is certainly an amazing place. But the shear size, and crowd size make it hard to fully appreciate the grandeur, extravagance and vision of it all.
Vaux le Vicomte chateau is first a brilliant example of baroque architecture and extravagance but is also a direct antecedent to Versailles. The audio guide for this tour is the best in class. It is the story of the builder and his demise at the hands of Louis XIV. The narrator is the Vicomte himself. The audio guide changes narrative automatically when each room is entered. The production quality is matched with the finest, most comfortable headphones available making the whole experience unmatched.
Whether you see Versailles first or later, you do not want to miss Vaux le Vicomte.
