It was an amazing experience. I loved seeing all of the marble statues and the actual St Peters Catherdal. In my opinion the painting in the Sisten Chapel was a little under whelming but is still something a person must see.

Great tour guide, Silvio! Very informative and not overly long around 2 hours. Glad we could skip the line and tour guide was helpful with any questions.

The pace through the museum that our guide set was INCREDIBLY fast. The Vatican was very busy that day, and it did not feel like the guide took that into account. We were not able to see even half of what we wanted to because our guide moved through the tour too fast. Her pace would have been too fast even if no one was there, let alone when it was full to capacity. The group was too large. We frequently found that we could not even see the piece of art she was talking about in oder to understand what she was saying because we could not get close to her. If this is a common occurrence, the tour should be structured differently to accommodate the number of people. I went to the Vatican Museum and Sistine chapel once before without a guide and found that more enjoyable because we could go at our own pace. However, I also talked to others who had other guides and loved their experience.

The guided tour was fair, at best. Although our guide spoke English I found her hard to understand with the headset provided. The crowds were unbelievable. We were kept moving in the museum and had NO time to enjoy the artifacts. The Sistine Chapel was JAMMED with tourists. Although there is the ability to sit along the perimeter, to look up at the ceiling, the seats were fought for, when someone got up. Therefore, you were left standing in a mob scene and not enjoy the peace and serenity that would go along with such a treasure. A highlight was climbing the spiral stairway to the top of the dome but had to wait 2 hours to get tickets for the climb! Your tour ticket gets you into the Basilica but the climb is 10 Euros extra. Overall I would not recommend it...paid $316 for 3 people.

We booked a 8:50am tour. They changed our time without notifying me. The tour was terrible. WASTE OF TIME & MONEY.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND

Just like all of the skip the line tours, you skip the ticket line, then get in all of the other lines. Our tour guide was slightly rude, and it was so crowded and hot that it felt like all I was doing was keeping an eye on our tour guides flag so as not to lose her in the crowd. If you go find a day that is not as busy, and pick a time of year where it is not so hot. Mid September was very warm and humid with no AC and very few fans.

The staff waiting for us outside when we were late due to metro strike, were amazing. They called us several times, talked to our taxi driver and all just to make sure we didn't miss our tour.

Tour guide was very knowledgeable and nice, however, she was rushing through so quickly that we were helping to corral the group to try and keep up. It was hard to hear her if you were not right next to her. For a group of this size, it is impossible for most to hear her. We were able to keep up as she weaved through other tour groups. This is not a good tour for someone who can’t speed walk. We didn’t get much time at any one item. It was so crowded and hotter inside than outside (and it was hot outside). A smaller group tour or at your own pace is best.

It was a great experience and our tour operator Alex did a great job of explaining the main highlights of the art.
