Sadly, this tour was one of the worst tours we’ve ever experienced. Great gallery, but while our guide, Leonardo, spoke English well enough to communicate, he went so fast and his Italian acent was so strong it was literally impossible to understand - even for someone who speaks English as their primary language. One group member asked him to slow down but even that did not help. He was glib and condescending on a number of levels. His explanations of these important works of art were very elementary. He said the same thing over and over again, and it did not appear his method was to ensure we understood, it literally felt like he didn’t have enough to say about each piece. Very disappointed. Please coach him up and get him some help to strengthen his communication with tour groups before he does even one more tour.

Because we scheduled a morning walking tour for an overview of Florence, we didn't make it to the Uffizi until after lunch. Thank goodness we pre-scheduled this small group tour! The afternoon crowds trying to get into the museum were unbelievable! We easily met our guide at the appointed spot, and she got us in right on time. She was very knoweldgeable and did a good job of selecting and summarizing the highlights of the museum, its artists, and the history of the Medicis. We saw paintings by Renaissance artists such as Martini (Annunciation), Lippi, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Botticelli (Birth of Venus). She pointed out the Ponte Vecchio from a window and paused so we could all take pictures. We were especially grateful that she extended the tour just a bit to take us to the first floor to see Caravaggio's "Medusa" & "Bacchus." (We did have trouble hearing and understanding our guide, even through our headsets, due to the noise of the crowd and our guide's accent. Even a private tour with a native English speaker would've been hard to hear in that crowd, however. I think an early morning tour would be better, schedule permitting.)

Our guide Oxsana was excellent. The content of the Uffizi is amazing
The crowds are stifling
The “skip the line” is not real, it was quite a shambles to get in.
It’s a unique place and not to be missed but the time management and overcrowding is a real issue

The tour guide seemed like a nice guy and knowledgeable, but his English was very hard to understand, especially in the more crowded areas. As with all these tours, you are limited to what they want to show you and how long they want to spend in each area. Also, it was disappointing a 2 hour tour ended almost 20 minutes early.

What a great investment. So wonderful to learn about the history of the Medici family but to also gain a brief insight on the history of the art and artists was an absolute gift. Thank you Ruby 🙏

Our guide was FABULOUS! I would put her name, but I don’t want to insult her by misspelling her name! She was soooooo knowledgeable, answered all questions- felt as if I had taken a semester of Renaissance Art History!!

Great tour guide! One of the very best we had during our 8 days of tours...just fantastic. She knew just where to go and how to keep things moving while still being so informative.
