The day starts with a convenient and easy pickup at your hotel or meeting point of your choice, aboard an air-conditioned and comfortable vehicle, you will be shuttled to Tulum.

This archeological site is a local landmark, since it served as a main port in the ancient Mayan civilization. Enjoy beautiful scenery along the way on this nature-filled ride.

You will priority access the archaeological site and enjoy a professionally-guided tour of the temples to see and learn about the main attractions such as the astronomical observatory of the Mayan city of Tulum and cultural buildings throughout the limits of the walls.

As you leave Tulum and its turquoise background waters, you will start on your way to the next leg of the journey, a scenic cenote that as expected, has cultural and traditional significance to the Mayan culture.

Enjoy the beautiful scenery surrounding you before a smooth-ride back.

The tour guide worked hard to keep everything on schedule after a late pick up by about 35 minutes. The ruins were beautiful, and the ceynote swim was enjoyable however, our tour guide spoke with an incredibly thick accent, which made it so really no one on the tour could understand the important points he was making. I think it took away from the learning experience. We also had very little idea what we were doing when throughout the tour and that I don’t think had much to do with the tour guides’ thick accent, I just think that there were also some issues with communication in general.. We all felt a little lost during the trip. Although van driver was late he was a safe driver.

Mary And Hugo were amazing hosts - extremely sweet and patient with our family of seven. Tulum is inspiring and the cenotes were a delight.

This tour is a great price and a full, enjoyable experience. Our tour guide, Jerry, was funny and very experienced. The ruins were interesting, and I liked that we had time to explore on our own after his talk. The cenote was really beautiful and peaceful, and I felt we were there just the right amount of time. We left from Tulum, and our tour was about 5-6 hours. If you leave from Cancun, expect closer to 6-8 hours. The cost of lunch is on your own, but he brought us to a nice place that took our order ahead of time when we arrived, and had it ready when we came back after the ruins. Overall, I recommend this tour!

Our tour was organised through Cancun Adventures. The whole experience was amazing! We are two adults and 4 teenagers from New Zealand. We arranged the tour through representatives at our resort. Pick up was seemless with a small party in our van and our driver Alexis was lovely. He and Maryanne Dayzu were a fabulous team! Mary was so knowledgeable and fun throughout our tour. We loved visiting Tallum - we recommend the early 6.40am pick up from your resort so you can get through before the queues start. We were treated to an exploration of El Sueño private cenote which was out of this world! We then headed to a restaurant on the beach, Punta Venado. What an incredible end to our tour. Amazing food and view of the ocean. We are so pleased to have had this family experience ?

Omg ! I can’t forget the drama that ensued on this trip. We got picked up in a van at our Cancún hotel 10 mins ahead of scheduled pick up time at 7:30 am so that was a great start by all measures. Then we had to switch to a full size tour bus at Playa Del Carmen where we met our official tour guide named Jerry Garcia. The bus now starts making its stops at various hotels to pick up other tourists. And I kid you not, we spent a total of 3 hrs just picking up people before we reached Tulum Mayan archeological site. Some of our tourists started getting impatient. Then as we reached the parking spot, we had to place orders for lunch with a certain restaurant that was “highly recommended” by our tour guide Jerry. So we placed orders in advance so that our meals would be ready after we’ve seen the archeological site. As we headed to the archeological site, our guide Jerry again “recommended “ that we use a certain restroom as it was the only free restroom at the location. This amazing pitch led our fellow tourists to make a queue for the free restroom which was located inside a souvenir shop. Now the lines for restroom are Huuuuge, and as you can predict, we lost a lot of time (almost 40 mins) to ensure everyone had an empty bladder before commencing the tour. As we walked towards the main entrance towards the site, there were lines almost a mile long to get to the main entrance of the site. Our guide Jerry recommended that we should eat lunch first at the recommended restaurant so that the lines ease up after we finish lunch. So everyone went for lunch and now were getting anxious about the schedule for the day. Finally after standing in line for more than an hour, our group reached the main entrance of the site but was held back by security as our group had not purchased the tickets to the monument which were supposed to be purchased by our guide and our guide was missing from the group. The initial security people knew Jerry and waved us through even without tickets because we were Jerry’s group however our group was stopped again by the second security team until Jerry appeared after 10 mins with the tickets. From that point onwards, we remained on track for the modified schedule and viewed the ruins of Mayan archaeological site. Jerry explained brilliantly about Mayan culture and history and took time to answer questions from everyone. I think he kinda redeemed himself after his presentation. The Mayan ruins are amazing and located right next to Caribbean Sea with beautiful turquoise blue waters and a small hidden beach. Afterwards, the visit to Casa Tortuga Cenote was also fantastic. It’s a great place for Cenote enthusiasts and very well maintained. There was free tequila tasting included in the package and the tequilas were simply out of this world.

Our guide Jerry made the tour 100% awesome. He was knowledgeable, funny, and kept his cool despite the challenge of very long lines to get into the Tulum ruins. The cenote was amazing, and Jerry kept us smiling all day.

I'm in disbelief this excursion earned an Excellence badge from Viator since it was the worst excursion my family has been on.

Our pick up from Playa del Carmen was at 8am, and we didn't arrive in Tulum until 11am due to all of the hotel pick ups; they obviously overbook and have people sit in the van for three hours.

The tour guide did not have express access, so we waited in line until 2pm to even enter the ruins; that was a three hour wait.

The ruin tour ended at 3:30, and we skipped the cenote and three hour ride back to the hotel; instead we paid $170 for a one hour taxi ride back to the hotel.

Our tour guide, Jerry, refused to refund us the cash he took for the cenote.

I will never trust Viator's ratings again.

My friends and I booked a tour with Cancun Adventures. A van picked us up at the resort. The driver, Marco was very polite and professional. Our tour guide was named Lalo. He had such a great personality. Everything was like right family!
Lalo was well versed in the Mayan and Aztec culture. I learned so much from him about the land and culture of these people and dispelled some of the myths I was taught earlier in life. The Tulum was a great tourist attraction, a must see before leaving Mexico.

Mary was one of the best tour guides that we had in Mexico. The Bus was a little crammed, but overall a good experience. The restaurant that they took us to was also good. Cenote could have been better. There was no tequila tasting during the tour. Tour started around 8am from Cancun and we returned back only at 6pm. So please be wary that this is not a half day tour. Mary’s story telling about Mayans was the highlight of this tour for me.
