Travel back in time during a day trip to the mysterious Maya ruins of Tulum. Uncover the secrets of this ancient civilization as you tour the archeological site with a guide, enjoy some free time to dig your toes into the sand of Tulum's picture-perfect beach and then take a refreshing dip in a spectacular cenote.

After you're picked up from your hotel, ride along jungle-fringed roads to Tulum, a walled Maya city perched on the coast above the crashing waves of the Caribbean. En route, your guide shares facts about the ancient Maya and the trade routes that crisscross the Yucatan.

Once you arrive, enter the archeological site to explore the mysteries of this fascinating and well-preserved city. Listen to theories about Maya rituals, worship, and daily life as you walk around the site's clifftop Castillo.

From the site, you can look out over the coast and Tulum's famous stretch of long white sand. After your tour, have some free time to take photos, go for a walk along the beach.

The guide, Sandro, and the driver, Martin, were great. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave us new information about Tulum.

However, it was just scorching hot and involves a lot and I mean A LOT of walking.
Just hydrate yourself, bring sun screen and wear comfortable footwear.

I wouldn’t really recommend this tour if you’re coming from Cancun Hotel Zone because it is far and the tour only includes 2 places, the Tulum Archaeological Site and the Tortuga Cenote.

If you really want to visit these places, it is better if you stay for a night or two in Tulum so that you can also visit other wonderful places in Tulum area.

Tulum ruins were great and our guide Sandro gave lots of interesting information about the Mayan culture and history. Cooling off afterwards in a cenote was a welcome break from the heat!

First we were supposed to be picked up at 8am but the next morning at 7:05 we received a text what’s up app asking where we were . I responded that we were to meet at 8am then I received a text again on what’s up app say I texted you yesterday that it would be at 7am. I never saw that text or responded to it. Why would this person assume I saw it without confirmation! Then at the hotel why didn’t they go to the front desk and have them call our room . We were not the only ones who missed the trip. I hope you will issue a refund without me pressing the issue further .

After we booked and paid for the tour we were notified that we would have to find our own way back from the cenote. As we’d only booked the day before we could not cancel without losing all of our money. Most tours would drop you back at the pickup place, but not this one. We were also charged extra (though this was noted) which made this not the good deal that it first appeared. Staying in Tulum, it was have been more advantageous for us to take a collectivo to the ruins, pay for a guide and take a collectivo back to Tulum.
The shops in the area are a rip off, charging us in US dollars rather than pesos.

Picked up from Cancun hotel and headed 2 hours south to Tulum in a nice air conditioned bus. Explored the Tulum archeological site for a little under 3 hours. Bring sunscreen or long sleeves and/or a hat. It was hot and mostly exposed to the sun. Tomas was informative about Mayan history. We were then given time on our own to explore. Had some tacos before heading to the Cenote. The cenote was refreshing and we were able to jump off of 2 platforms into the water- it was deep enough to be safe. After the cenote we headed the 2 hours back to Cancun. The trip felt safe, the bus was nice and cold. I would recommend this trip just keep in mind it’s 10 hours.

Sandro was a great guide. He was very personable and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the trip. Perfect amount of time. Cenote site was nice after Tulum ruins. Very Refreshing! However not much to do but take a dip and swim. Not too picturesque. Recommend bringing your own towel, mosquito repellent, sun screen and water.

Tour of tulum ruins was good but very brief, Tortuga cenote was amazing, lovely emerald green refreshing water. Morning Pick up was 15 min late, and included 6 hotel stops plus a bus transfer and 30 min at the tourist shop. So tour that should be a half day was a full day with all the wasted pick up time. No matter how good the guide is, vacation time is precious and I’d rather not spend 4 hours getting there when it’s a 45 min drive…

Sandro was awesome, very patient with our daughter. The ruins have a cool history, and the center was clean and refreshing.
