Transfer Naples to Positano, stop Pompei

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! On April 27, we had a trip booked with Taxis Luigi from Naples, to Positano, to Pompeii, and then returning to the cruise ship. The driver was on time and nice. We had a nice trip to, and walk through, Positano, but when the driver picked us up and started out of Positano, the Italian Federal Police stopped us to inspect the papers for the van we were in. The police were polite and explained to us that the van was being used illegally to transport tourists. We spent hours on the side of the road in Positano while they dealt with the issue. We got a copy of the ticket. They did allow us to continue our trip. We had requested clarification on the Pompeii tickets a few times. On the way to Pompeii, we learned that the tickets had not been purchased for us, even though Luigi had sent us a message saying that they would be purchased and waiting. When we finally got to Pompeii, we made the decision that we didn't have enough time to justify buying tickets. We could have spent a short time, but we had lost confidence in the whole process and were concerned about getting back to our cruise ship on time. At Pompeii, the driver pointed out Luigi, but Luigi did not choose to come over and talk to us. The driver was nice, but he was helpless to do anything. Apparently, there were two different companies involved. Luigi booked our trip, but another company was providing the transportation (Max Travel). Bottom line is we were sent on a tour in a van that was illegally transporting us. Communication regarding tickets was horrible and wrong. We missed our chance to see Pompeii and endured 2 hours on the side of the road. We had seen the police cruising the parking garage earlier. It seems that they spotted our van without the proper tags and were waiting for us. Our driver tried to help by calling his boss Angelo and Luigi. Luigi claimed that it was a routine traffic stop. And Luigi claimed that he had communicated differently to us regarding the Pompeii tickets. He did not. Do not trust your precious vacation plans to this company.

Where to begin: Luigi and his colleagues were fantastic. They were all so warm and welcoming and willing to do so much more than what they were contracted. They knew the area inside and out and locals knew them as well which added genuine authenticity to the experience(s). Luigi transferred us from Naples airport all the way to Matera with stops along the way. Four days later he returned and drove us to the Amalfi Coast - again with stops along the way and then to Positano. Six days later he returned and drove us back to Naples airport, ...with stops along the way. Incredible!
