I like traveling actively, so this tour was a perfect combination of physically demanding hiking, nature, history, culture - mentally it felt like much more than just two days. Bearing in mind this is a budget version of the tour that may not mean that everyone speaks perfect English or that there is gourmet food or cell service available always, I really appreciated all the great guidance and communication received from the tour company, along with the option to upgrade hotel, buses and trains. Really means you get to pick your own adventure and level of intensity. We opted to upgrade to train back from Aguas Calientes, so we hiked in one way and got to experience the magnificent views from the train when we went back to Cusco, also highly recommended. Exhausting in all the best ways!

We took the van and the train. Then the bus up to Machu Picchu. Ulises was an exception guide. He made the trip fun and entertaining. He created a feeling of unity among 10 strangers. We ever went out to lunch after. Loved Machu Picchu!

The assistance service has been awesome! Nixon has been a really good tour guide! He helped us for every need we had. Unfortunately we had to change our plans last minute and he found the best solution to solve our problems. We totally recommend this tour. We had really a beautiful time in Machu Picchu!

Incredible tour thanks to the very professional and friendly service provided by Mega expeditions.
From the moment you book you are being taken care of, being presented with a complete explanation of the tour. I booked too late to get entrance tickets to Machupicchu and they made sure I was given an alternative.
The whole trip was made very easy even though I had to go through an arguably difficult process (getting last minute tickets) by being given clear instructions and provided by all the information necessary at all times.
In the end I was able to make it to Machu Picchu, and I had an amazing time !
Thank you again Nixon for the amazing communication and being so attentive, you're the best!

We thought this tour was really good value for money! We opted to pay extra and take the train there and then get the minivan back and it was still the cheapest tour we found online.
All our questions were answered quickly and we felt very at ease and that everything was taken care of. Thank you to Nixon who was our point of contact!

I would highly recommend Mega Expeditions if you and your group wanna book a tour to Machu Picchu. Me and my husband just came back from our wonderful, amazing trip in Peru. We ended up of upgrading to a train, another extra night and bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu before we started the trekking due to my husband’s sciatica . (we wanted to do an easy trek.) Mega Expenditions were excellent in communicating with us from start to finish. They are prompt, very helpful, professional. I could go on and on. Bottom line, we felt very important as always. The driver, the guides were excellent as well. After our Machu Picchu we again, booked another tour from them when we get to Cuzco - an ATV tour to Sacred Valley with a trip to Moray Ruins and Salt mines. We had a blast! Guys. thank you and we hope to booking with you again in the near future!

Our Cusco to Machu Picchu tour turned out perfectly. We booked last minute (5 days in advance), this tour being one of the few that even said it had our available dates when attempting to book online. Nixon contacted us right away to start explaining our options and the process, which I found to be quite confusing. Because of our last minute booking, we had to get our entrance tickets in person in Aguas Calientes, rather than having them included with the price of the tour (which is possible when you book early). As a born worry wart, I was immediately anxious we wouldn’t be able to get tickets to enter the site at all. Nixon was fantastic! He spent hours messaging me and even had zoom meetings with maps, and slides to answer questions, explain steps, and clarify situations over and over and over. He was endlessly patient. We decided to take the train both up and back, which is stunning. And everything went off without a hitch! Everyone involved with this tour; the driver, Inca Rail folks, the people at the hostel, our guide for the site and of course Nixon, were great! They really worked to guide us through the entire process.
We had a gorgeous day at Machu Picchu and an unforgettable experience together.

I loved my time in Machu Picchu. It was a fantastic unforgettable experience. The sights, the food, & more importantly the people. The hot springs were very rejuvenating, I recommend the 99F pool. Alpaca burgers & steaks were delicious. The tour group is very diligent, communicative, & patient. Straightforward directions that are easy to comprehend.
Pro tip: get a simcard for cellular (data) service in Peru, it is crucial.

When we book this trip right the way Nixon contacted me to tell me the details the situation was a bit difficult because we booked in September and the tickets to Machu Picchu are very hard to get but Nixon explained to me the process to get them and he was very clear that it was better if we stayed 2 days in aguas caliente to get the tickets that was something that I really appreciate because we scheduled everything based on that time-frame we started the trip right on time with the shuttle arriving to our airbnb the experience is amazing the views on the van are unique and the driver was very professional and a very skilled one we started the walk and it was an unique experience the way that you feel nature the landscape after a bit of a walked but a very easy one we get to aguas calientes we checked in the hotel and went to dinner all the time Nixon was checking on us and always going an extra mile we get our tickets we relaxed in town highly recommended and the day after we start our trip to the city in the skies shout out to our tour guide Yesica that is a very professional and sweet person her explanation was superb and her attitude was extremely warm and her speech really interesting. Overall a recommended experience that could not be possible without the help of Mega thanks to all of you for your hard work.
