We traveled with a 6 and 12 year old and she was very patient with the kids. We lived the tour and the tour guide did an awesome job. She even managed to get us into St. Peter’s basilica in time.

Our guide, Valentin, was excellent! He was very knowledgeable and also had a great sense of humor. He kept everyone engaged and kept the group moving. St. Peter’s is spectacular and the dome climb was worth it for us. I would note that you still have to wait in line for security, which was long, and wait in line for the dome. So if you are booking something after this tour you will want plenty of time in between.

The operator, Touriks, did not pick up the phone when we couldn’t find their Yellow flag. Reason why we couldn’t find them in the meeting location was because they had no yellow flag.
After getting acquainted with our guide she was very nice and did a great job.

This was not my first visit to The Vatican or into St Peter’s but it was for my partner and I had to justify the amount we paid for this guided tour. Meeting the leader and the group was no problem but the almost 2 hour wait in the queue to get to the 2 security checks that were open was tiring. With so many thousands of people waiting, surely the authorities could open more than 2 checkpoint???? Our guide was informative, although a little difficult to understand his English at times. Once into St Peter’s we saw many tombs and chapels and altars and then went down into the grottos. Next came the long queue for the lift to the dome climb. This is a beautiful place and any visitor would be in awe at the size.
I was rather shocked at the $AUD 165 we paid - the church is free to enter, the grotto was free to enter, the lift to the dome was €10. The tour was good but is not worth the money.

From the reviews, I expected more. Our tour guide pointed out some highlights in the basilica but the dome climb and grottoes were on our own. Really could have got the amount of information from a basic guide book.
