I went to Pompeii for an organized visit with work colleagues. We are restorers and I relied on Svelaria by Ilaria Fiore because it was recommended by a friend. The guide made available was Dr. Cristina Napolitano, a highly trained person who led us impeccably on the tour of the excavations, taking us to the most interesting and astonishing places in the archaeological area with truly superior competence and professionalism. The superior level of guides compared to the average is truly evident.

Our guide took us on a gentle tour through the ruins of Pompeii. We were a mixed age group from grandparents through to primary school children. She explained significant sites very well and answered the many questions she was asked thoroughly. Her intimate knowledge of the site was reflected in her commentary. It was a wonderful experience to be part of small group with such a knowledgeable guide.

Ilaria, a competent archaeologist and passionate about her work, guided us impeccably and empathetically through the ruins of Pompeii. His story rich in history, myth and curiosity also involved the youngest of the group, making the 4 hours of the tour very pleasant for everyone.

Absolutely an experience to do!
We took a long tour visiting the most significant and well-preserved places, including Villa dei Misteri. A nice walk in the company of friends and young people who were able to enjoy a passionate and in-depth narration of the places and the historical event of 1979.
Our guide took us on a magnificent journey through time! Compliments!

What an amazing experience! My wife had always wanted to visit since she was a child and this private guided tour was everything and more. Ilaria is the most professional guide and provided us with a truly authentic experience. First things you need to know, it's a private tour, Ilaria is totally focused on you, your questions and your experience. You can choose your level of adventure, determine how much ground you want to cover, what interests you want to see and learn about and really customize your experience. Understand that there are thousands of people who visit this site weekly but many of them never truly understand and experience the intimate details of the site because they never had an archaeologist as their guide who studies the information in great detail. You'll see other "Robo-Guides" walking around pointing, waving their flag and carrying on before anyone has a chance to even understand what they're looking at! This is not the case with Ilaria, she stops, she discusses, she provides insight and context, she explains the timeline and how these events came to be. I truly believe that if you're interested in this or any other guided tour, Ilaria is the best of the best. Top shelf!

We can’t say enough about our private tour of Pompeii with Ilaria. She doesn’t just have knowledge of Pompeii, she is also extremely well versed in history, Greek and Roman mythology which really adds to the tour. We had a snafu with our transportation to the site, so we arrived late. Ilaria was immediately responsive (actually from my first message to her to book the tour) when I let her know and she was kind enough to alter the tour in order to prioritize what we saw with her. Pompeii is spectacular and immense, and without Ilaria to guide us we would have been overwhelmed and not learned nearly as much. Thank you so much, Ilaria we will recommend anybody we know going to Pompeii to book with you.
