This hugely popular bus tour includes special entry to the advance-reservation-only Ghibli Museum. The museum features a plethora of exhibits introducing animation and production processes as well as a small theatre where a Studio Ghibli’s original short animated film is screened. All tour participants will receive a Ghibli Museum teacup on board the tour vehicle. Feel free to bring it home as a souvenir. During the tour, Visit Hotel Gajoen Tokyo, the lunch venue. This spectacular historical building is said to have inspired an important structure in a Studio Ghibli film. Enjoy the atmosphere and savor a buffet featuring the hotel's prized cuisine. At Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum, walk down streets lined with colorful and intriguing buildings which evoke an atmosphere just like in the Studio Ghibli film, "Spirited Away." Take some time to ponder while strolling around.

We're all here because we failed to get Ghibli tickets and this seems like the next best thing. I was even a little resentful when I booked: I have to go to another museum and a lunch just to see the thing I want??
I was wrong. The hotel was gorgeous, and the Edo-Tokyo Architecture Museum was so cool and interesting I could've spent three times longer there. Taking a tour bus out to Mitaka was so much more convenient than figuring it out myself. And Michiko, our guide, was knowledgeable and fun. She gave us the information we needed while on the bus, then let us explore ourselves.
This tour was completely worth it. I'm glad I failed to get Ghibli tickets and did this instead.

Awesome! Everything about the whole day was perfect. Our tour guide Marie was so fun and enjoyable. Keio hotel just magnificent and their lunch buffet was exquisite. Bus ride comfy and all 3 stops well planned. Highly recommend for any Hayao Miyazaki/animation fans.
Me and my 3 adult kids loved every minute!

A beautiful place for lovers of animation. Unforgettable fun without phones. We can get lost and confused.

It was okay. Ghibli museum was kind of disappointing.
I wasn’t allowed to take pictures with my tripod in the other museum which doesn’t make sense because a tripod doesn’t hurt anybody. I like taking my own pictures not having someone help me. And we were in the museum where you take pictures of the temples outside, so again doesn't make sense. Also, the food isn’t free. I was charged. It’s misleading that it says it’s included! I wish I could get a refund.

It was great to see “inspiration” sites from Tokyo and its environs culminating in the Ghibili Museum at the end of the day. While our guide was good, I found out more from Google searches during the day about the Ghibili connections to what we saw. Tge Myseum was spectacular and I am so glad that we could get tickets to go through the tour, rather than the nearly impossible task of attempting to get online directly. The architectural park and Hotel were excellent spots that brought you into the depth of the visuals of the films. Buffet lunch was stellar with a wide array of choice and excellent quality!

It was the most special and definitely the most precious tour that I have arranged for my Tokyo trip. It has the three top locations to see the inspiration sources of Miyazaki. So happy to visit.

Good selection of attractions, very knowledgeable and kind guide, tour worth spending money on – especially considering how difficult is to get ticket for Ghibli Museum from abroad. And each participant got very nice “Catbus” ceramic cup! :)

It is good for the fans who love the art behind the movies. It kinda sucked because you cannot take any photos once you enter the building. I think ghibli park was more enjoyable with the amount of things to see/do especially for price and availability. Our tour was great being able to get lunch at this beautiful hotel and going to the architecture museum as well. The guide was great and very sweet!

Our guide Miki made every minute of this trip informative and entertaining. It was great to visit two places (Hotel Gajeon & Edo Open Air Museum) that inspired Miyazaki before enjoying the Ghibli Museum. The pace is perfec, although I would have enjoyed a bit more time at the Edo Open Air Museum. Since securing tickets to the Ghibli Museum is virtually impossible, this tour is, by far, the best option! I would do it again!
