You will then see the town of Tivoli, where you will have a break while you enjoy lunch.
In the afternoon you will discover the Villa d’Este, perched on the cliff-side with sweeping views across the valley. You will also walk through the estate’s beautiful formal gardens, all with an official guide to accompany you and show you everything you need to see.

I found it informative. Saw much in a short amount of time.
Great history that would otherwise be missed in our time in Rome.
A lot of steps at Villa D'Este.

Villa d’Este and Hadrian’s compound. I thought the bus driver was out of control. Driving fast, stopping suddenly and all passengers were thrown forward. The tour guide was rude and short tempered . He talked down to us. Not happy with his presentation.

Ride was incredibly unpleasant, party because of the older vehicle , as well as because of the driver, who was dangerously awful.
Lunch options were so bad, we had to walk away without even waiting to try it.
Last, but not least , Too much walking up and down and overall, made it unbearable to some folks in the group.
Wouldn’t recommend, unless you just need to kill a few hours.

Beautiful places, great tour but should be a lot longer to get a chance to see the Villas. Particularly as it requires a huge number of steps to take.

Tivoli and the villas were great and the host Giuseppe brilliant I would highly recommend.
Trip let down on two fronts the lunch very poor hard bruscheta to start average ravioli and smoked cheese was covered with Ham no good for my vegetarian wife. Yes we did on booking point out the requirement.
Second issue the coach driver constantly on phone texting, yawning and stretching constantly as well. At the end of the day your life is in his hands !!
A shame as Villa D'este gardens and waterfalls stunning.

Both sites are beautiful and complement the visit to Rome very well, we just wish we had a little more time to appreciate them.

This tour covered both of these villas very well and we had a great guide. Bus ride was easy, about 40 minutes from downtown to Tivoli each way. We have seen on past trips the most common sites in Rome so this was excellent to get outside of the city And see these wonderful villas. It was not too crowded when we went in early May, but at times I know there are schools, etc. that make it more crowded.

Tour content was great - Tivoli stunning. Hadrians interesting.
Limited time at Tivoli though.
Lots of walking - I walked about over 4 miles - which was typical in case for those who may not like to walk so far. And steps too.

Fabulous tour with Giuseppe as our guide. He grew up in Tivoli and his knowledge of all areas is very special. We really enjoyed the day.
