I have no complaints about this wonderful experience and the fascinating tour of a communist-era flat. Bogdan was a wonderful guide and it was a very enjoyable two hours. It was also nice getting out of Bucharest’s city centre for a few hours. After a visit to the flat, my friend and I were able to walk around the area and even explore a local market - something we wouldn’t have done if this tour hadn’t brought us to a different area.

I did find the scheduling of the tour, however, to be rather stressful. I looked and looked for information regarding an estimated time for the tour with no luck. I googled the museum, read TripAdvisor reviews, and even found the museum’s website. I wanted to pack as many experiences into my Bucharest trip as possible and that requires knowing in advance which experiences will need to take place on certain days or which ones need to take place in the afternoon, morning, etc. It wasn’t until after I booked and paid for this tour that I received a message saying the tour would take place from 10am - 12pm. I was not consulted regarding a time that would work best for me. Fortunately, I was able to make it work and had a fabulous experience. But, some travelers (like myself) want to know precisely what they’re booking when they’re booking it.

An absolutely fascinating experience. Our guide Andra was an amazing host, showing us the living history of the space and using it to describe the whole history of 20th century Romania. A must-do for anyone who cares about history.

What a great morning we had on this unique experience in Bucharest. It was fascinating stepping back in time to an era within our lifetime that was so different to our own experiences! Our guide Elena was very knowledgeable and easy to listen to and chat with and it really gave us an insight as to how it was for a lot of people living under Communist rule. Great that we could touch and interact with all of the objects in the appartment and the little snacks provided were the icing on the cake!!Thank you so much to the owners for sharing their family story !

This was one of our favourite experiences during our visit to Bucharest. Our guide was very friendly and had so much fascinating history to share. The apartment is like a time capsule, and visiting it provided lots of insight into day-to-day life during Romania's communist period. This is one of the most interesting and personal museum experiences I've visited about the history of communism in Europe.

This was the best thing that we did in Bucharest and our guide - Elena was fantastic. We went with our 2 kids aged 12 and 14 and there was only one other guy on the tour. We spent about 2.5 hours with Elena and in the apartment (she thoughtfully met us from the Metro station nearby). Another reviewer has said that this is a tour for Westerners who have not previously been in a communist apartment in the 1980s - and she is correct! As Westerners who were children in the UK in the 1980s or today's children from the West it is a fascinating and insightful window into another world and gave our kids a better social and political lesson in recent history than they will ever get in a classroom or from a textbook! Highly recommend this trip if you are visiting Bucharest - definitely a hidden gem!
