Enjoy a fantastic full day tour to Egerszalok thermal bath and to the historical town of Eger, which is famous for successfuly repelling the Turkish army in 1552.

Egerszalok is an open-air spa and village located in northeastern Hungary. The springs yield 68°C. mineral water from an aquifer located under the volcanic Matra Mountains. The spa is located 8 km west of the county seat of Eger. Egerszalok lies 133 km from Budapest between the Mátra and Bükk ranges. The historical and geographical associations of Egerszalók have made it a favourite spa in Hungary. The area's waters have been in use since the 1730s, although the current spa only came into operation in 1961. Before entering the spa pools, the steaming water runs down a series of cascades forming unique salt hill formations.

Excellent tour and very informative tour guide. 👌
Huge well done for our tour guide Richard 👏 😊
He texted beforehand our big day to confirm the time and the place, then took us around Eger. He was very patient , showed us all the places we had to see and been told the brief historic informations. After then we been took to Egerszalòk Thermal Bath, we were able to spend there 3 hours. Which was enough for first time, soon after we were all sleepy hence sitting in the hot water for long time. I would recommend to take a good nap straight after a bath session and drink plenty- mineral water activates organs so well we all felt extreme thirst.
Afterall, it was an excellent day out, can highly recommend.

The spa itself was incredible. Nice lockers to store your things in (just be sure to read the sign on to how to use them with your wristbands when entering the locker room.). The setting was serene on a weekday, it might get a little crazy on the weekends, but there are many pools to choose from. Very relaxing. The problem was with the staff at the spa, especially the female bar tender! We were on a package tour through Viator & our host used the company credit card to pay for our tickets. So, our wristbands were tied to that credit card. We thought we understood the person in the ticket booth to say that we could use our own credit card in the bar (no cash) but when we tried that, the bartender became very upset and was almost screaming at us and kept repeating our order & getting it wrong (I guess she didn't know how to make a vodka tonic . . .) It was a very unpleasant situation and put a dark cloud over an otherwise enjoyable day. If you go on this with Viator, I guess you won't be able to get a drink in the bar as your wristbands have the company credit card associated with it.
