Being vegetarians, we decided to pack some food from home for the night we landed in Athens and next day morning breakfast. After finishing Acropolis and Agora we decided to explore Athens streets and find any vegetarian brunch option close-by. We stumbled upon "Eatery Bairaktaris in Aiolou 29". Great Mediterranean food, loved their hot mint tea, fresh orange juice, tasty falafels, super soft pita breads, a bit greasy zucchini fries in a cozy street with amazing vibe all around. Same afternoon, we wanted to pick up Baklavas to bring back home and found "Konstandinidis". Their fresh baked bread loafs and so many varieties of Baklavas were out of the world.

Anna was an excellent guide, able to answer many questions we had even if not based on the dishes, and was very friendly and personable. She was also very considerate of any dietary restrictions and made sure we were comfortable going to certain areas (like the meat market).
The variety of food sampled was a great experience, a much more accurate representation of Greek food than you'd find in the standard tourist affairs. Going to the different locations over the district was also very interesting.
Made for a great last day to our Athens stay.

We booked a 4h-tour with Anna, starting mid-morning in a group of 3. We all got along very well since we were all very curious about athens and food. Anna brought us to places like a bakery for traditional bread, a coffee place for greek coffee (with a really nice view of the Akropolis), through markets and shops. We tried fruits, vegetables, pastries, olive oils, different kinds of olives, greek mezze, etc etc. Anna also showed us around and gave us an insight on food. She is a foodie and just knows the best places. I would highly recommend taking time for a tour with Food on Foot in Athens!

Anna gave us a tour of the historical centre as well as on Greek food. It was very informative and interesting, altering between food and beverage. We were very full at the end but were able to enjoy everything! Highly recommended.
