The Real Tour of Communism will take you through all of the major aspects regarding the life under communist rule in Romania which lasted officially from 1948 to 1989.
The Communism era was marked by the dictator Nicolae Ceausescu who ruled Romania for most of this period (1965-1989).
We will discover the landmarks of the Communist era to understand how the city's architecture was influenced and changed for ever. But also the former locations of the Secret Police where Romanians were interrogated and tortured too.
The tour ends in the Revolution Square where Nicolae Ceausescu had his last speech on Dec 21st 1989 few days before he was executed together with his wife.

This tour was highly informative and Mihai was a great guide with a wealth of knowledge on the communist era and Romanian history. Highly recommended for any travellers to Bucharest.

A gripping tour from start to finish. So interesting visiting Bucharest whilst being told all about it’s communist history. What is also so fascinating is that it wasn’t even that long ago. Mihai was an excellent and knowledgable guide too.

A really good value and interesting tour by an enthusiastic and friendly guide.
Despite the freezing conditions we were not hurried and had a comprehensive and interesting tour of the communist sites, revolution square and part of the old town.

We had the most amazing tour with Andreea yesterday. If you really want to understand Bucharest and Romania, it’s history, its heritage and how it’s become such a beautiful Country, this trip is a must! Andreea’s passion and knowledge of the post 2nd world war Romania is infectious, this trip is a must!
