On this day tour from Edinburgh, you can see the Scottish Highlands, Glencoe, film locations and take a journey on the Jacobite Steam Train over the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct.
We travel directly for Fort William to board the Jacobite Steam Train for the greatest railway journey in the world, it's the perfect way to see some of famous movie spots. One of the most iconic images in the films is that of the Jacobite Steam Train known to us all as the ‘Hogwarts Express’ travelling over the Glenfinnan Viaduct.
On arrival to the fishing village of Mallaig with its ferry route to the Isle of Skye (which you will get views of on a clear day) you will have a rest from location spotting to enjoy some free time in the village with many choices for lunch. From Mallaig you will again board the coach where we will have a stop at the Glenfinnan visitor centre for an excellent chance to photograph the steam train returning across the viaduct, before we return to Edinburgh via Pitlochry.

The tour was extraordinary whether you’re a Harry Potter fan or not. The highlands are amazing, stunning, incredible. The train is so fun. The villages are beautiful.
Now the good part. If you can get Braden as driver/guide. He is hilarious while also knowledgable about the history geography.
You will love this!!!

Super funny and entertaining driver on a brilliant tour. Ride the Hogwarts express and see it crossing the viaduct on the way back.
A must do when in Edinburgh.

Not everything went smoothly, which it never does but our amazing tour guide Brendan was able to keep us happy! Next to that we had some amazing views. Being a harry potter fan this was extra magical!

10/10 the guide dougie was incredible, made a 13 hour day absolutely fly by, is there anything he doesn’t know about Scotland?. Would recommend to anyone Harry Potter fan or not as even if your not there’s plenty of opportunities to enjoy the incredible views!

Brilliant tour from start to finish. Brendan, our driver was informative, cheerful and nuts 😂🤣 we laughed most of the day. A wee bit drizzly, not uncommon in the Highlands, but that didn’t dampen his enthusiasm. He came equipped for the kids with brooms for the selfies where the quidditch matches were super imposed in the HP movies, silly songs and general organised mayhem. You will enjoy meeting Brendan’s friend Hamish and his travelling companion, Isla. Great value for the cost which includes tickets on the Jacobite Steam train to Mallaig.

We attended a tour today with my family. Brendan was out bus driver. What a fantastic day we have had ! Dry informative and lots of fun during the day. Brendan appeared very knowledgable of all aspects in the tour and made the tour very memorable. Never been on a tour like that but would certainly book again due to the positive experience today 10/10.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Our tour guide Brendan was amazing and kept us entertained all day - as well as having so much knowledge about all the places we visited!! Grayline Tours and Brendan are HIGHLY recommended. Don’t hesitate - book a trip!!

The tour himself is not spectacular. (but this is the standard for all this type of tours)
I went mainly for the Hogwards express and it's not what I was expecting. Anyway this depends on the train company to make the ride more exciting, but you will not have any of these:
- no theme music on train
- no ppl dressed up as in Harry Potter contoller/trolley carrier etc
- the train is not labeled Hogwards Express
- you will not be sitting in the train cabins from the movie ( this is for all tours) ; they are in 1st class and thickets with agencies are Srandard.
What I've liked about Gray Lines tour is that they have chosen an amazing driver, they were on time and they've took care to get the view of the viaduct when the train was passing over. (I've been on the moring trip, outbond group)
Just want to thank to Brandan for making the tour so fun. It was a long journey and without him I think we would have died.
Nice story telling and jokes, we basically had our own Stand Up show.
I am giving 4 stars just because the experience wasn't what I was expecting for the price paid and maybe Gray Lines could include the 1st class tickets for the train for ppl who want to experience the movie cabins.
