Continuing on, to the Heritage Square dating back to 1771. Prepare your taste buds for a delightful experience at the charming Zannes Fare, renowned for serving the best Bobotie and Bubbles in town.
Our next stop is Marcos African Cafe, where you’ll indulge in an African platter featuring traditional meats and vegetables, accompanied by a tasting of a ceremonial African drink.
We stop at Fireman’s Arms, one of South Africa’s oldest bars, where you’ll have the opportunity to sample a tasting-size Bunny Chow and Malva pudding. Complementing these flavoursome treats, you can choose a local craft gin or beer to complete your tasting experience.

Justin was an excellent tour guide, he had great knowledge of the areas including the diverse communities and the history we visited in Cape Town, no question went unanswered. The selection of cafes, restaurants and pubs allowed us to experience a lot in a short space of time. I I would highly recommend the walking tour if you are low on time but want to absorb as much as possible. All in all, a great way to spend an afternoon.

Justin was great fun and we had a wonderful time. We had a variety of local foods that were delicious and we got the history behind the cuisines too. Would definitely recommend! Would not have had a similar culinary experience without the tour I am sure.

Having done many food tours in different countries, we were amazed by Cape Town Culinary Tours. The vibrant and also moving history of Cape Town is really well explained and has such a massive influence on the food. Our guide Justin was extremely knowledgeable, his passion for food, history and foraging blended so well together during this fascinating tour. Immersive, interesting and delicious! Definitely a must-do in Cape Town! (Come hungry as you will get a lot of food ?)

The tour is a city tour as well !! The guide Justin was really knowledgeable about the history of the area, all the restaurants and everything we were eating! He even knew about all the plants growing in the area !

This tour is absolutely superb! The variety of African foods, served in four different restaurants was outstanding. Ellie, our guide, was very knowledgeable, lots of fun and gave us plenty of time to take photos and enjoy our visit. Can’t say enough positive things about this adventure. Only one slightly negative comment and that is the first stop, with the African donuts and tea, was perfect. But the second stop at Marco‘s place, was just way too much food! Most of us were trying to be polite and ate everything, including the pap. There was so much food that you couldn’t enjoy the food at the rest of the places. My suggestion would be to just serve a taste of each wonderful African dish at Marco’s place, and not a full dinner! Otherwise – I highly highly recommend this tour!!

Our guide, Justin, was a fountain of knowledge. History about the food origins was just part of his extensive knowledge. Had a great time meeting new people from other parts of the world too. Fantastic experience.

This was an amazing tour. Our guide Justin brought us to some amazing places all rich with history. We had many wonderful local dishes, all of which were delicious. Walking through the heart of Capetown was also a fantastic experience! Come hungry!
