This food tour is a great way to experience culture, history and places to visit in Napoli. Aldo our host was extremely passionate about introducing us to restaurants, cafes, street stalls and gelato parlours. He also recommended and secured us a table at a fabulous authentic restaurant. This local knowledge enhanced our stay and we returned to many of these venues. A particular highlight was our tour of the Quartieri Spagnoli neighbourhood where we enjoyed the vibrant and friendly atmosphere and sampled local wines, pizza, mozzarella and tomatoes. Aldo shared his knowledge of agriculture and information about the wines and dishes of the region, which reflect Napoli and Southern Italy's agricultural conditions and influences from the East. This tour enhanced our whole visit helping us appreciate the authentic Napoli, its food, drink, sights and people. Thank you Aldo, this tour was the highlight of our holiday and ensured that we experienced Napoli through the eyes and mouth of a local!

We took this tour on a cold rainy day.... but Aldo made all of that go away. This is a combined history and food tour. He is a great ambassador for his city and by the end of the tour you will be in love with Napoli as well. There are a lot of mixed reviews about Naples on the internet, but we found it was our favorite city and had the BEST food out of our entire trip. He also goes the extra mile (or km) and sends you recipes and lists of restaurant recommendations. A must do!

I found myself on Aldo's tour almost by accident. I was staying in Pompei and I'd wanted to take a tour of Vesuvius vineyards but there wasn't much available being very low season.

So - what to do instead? Street food and history tour in Napoli? That'll do nicely.

It was a great tour, despite absolutely pouring rain. I doubt anything dampens the vibrance of the Spanish Quarter. The frozen apricot yoghurt from Gay-Odin was amazing.

And, lucky for me, Aldo grew up in Pompei. Over the next few days he sent me a number of messages recommending good restaurants and wine bars in Pompei, so I could carry on the tasting tour and find those Vesuvian wines I wanted to try. Many thanks, Aldo!

The "Taste of Naples" Food Tour, escorted by Aldo, was wonderful. We not only learned some history of Naples, but also some of the secrets of Napoli cuisine! Our first stop was the Caffe Borbone, underneath the oldest continuously active venue for opera in the world--the sfogliatella was delicious and has become one of our very favorite pastries! We continued our walk through narrow streets on our way to our next restaurant as Aldo gave us the history of the fortess and statues that we passed .

Sette passi a Chiaia was a small intimate restaurant, spotless. Freshly made bread and buffalo mozzarella in a Caprese salad introduced us to their special flavors. Aldo explained buffalo mozzarella and what a treat it was! We enjoyed wood fired Pizza Margharita, and learned the "proper" way to eat pizza. Fresh ingredients are a must!

The streets of Naples are a colorful, interesting treat, and again Aldo explained the neighborhoods and their history. Our final stop was Gay-Odin, known for their delicious gelato. We tried pistachio, salted pistachio, and dark chocolate--all delightfully tasty.

We would highly recommend a Taste of Naples Food Tour! Learn about the beautiful city while savoring the special taste of Naples! We cannot say enough about the kind and thoughtful Aldo who made certain everyone was comfortable and enjoying Naples!

They are attentive, careful and provided essential information to get to know the city. I highly recommend it and I hope to return soon, as Naples is incredible.

Aldo was a great guide with a lot of energy and knowledge. He shared a concise, descriptive history of Naples with us and explained the differences between Naples’ cuisine and other parts of Italy- Pizza and gelato are definitely the stars of the tour, and it is worth doing for sure- the local spots we went to during the tour were as good as anything we had eaten exploring on our own. If you need help finding spots Aldo was able to recommend a bunch of quality restaurants with different types of food.

Naples is such an historical place and Aldo was the best guide, revealing us some secrets of the city and showing us the best food places to eat ? and I confirm: Naples has the BEST pizza in the world ? Worth the money, go enjoy!!!
