My husband and I attended the Tango show with the optional lesson and had such a great time! The instructors were professional and dancers in the show. It was fun to learn some steps from them and then get to see their performances.
Dinner was 3 courses with wine with nice selections. Service was fast and attentive.
We are so glad we went because it really embodied the spirit of Buenos Aires and created a wonderful memory.

No water for people on the upper balcony. According to staff to avoid people throwing liquids from it. What? What kind of people? So me and my wife couldn't drink nothing during the show. But of course people who had brought their own beverage drank it comfortably all the time. So if you are not going to have dinner at the premises try to bring your own water.
This is a mentality from managers that really don't know how to make money. I had a great time in a balcony watching a show and drinking beer form a glass. Well that was Albert Hall in London. Maybe you should learn.

We just did the show and it was very entertaining, lively & worth it! Just fyi- If you only do show you are in balcony not on floor at tables- you can see well though & it is really fun!

We enjoyed the Tango show at Tango Porteno. We were picked up promptly in front of our hotel and transferred to the theater.
This excursion for us included the transport and theater ticket only option (no food, drinks, etc). We tried to purchase drinks at the theater and it was a mess. There was only one waitstaff for approximately 40-50 people, including those who were eating dinner. After placing a drink order, a different person came around and collected our money. Ultimately we paid for but did not receive everything we had ordered, and once the show started it was impossible to get the attention of the waitstaff. This was frustrating, so I would recommend going to the bar personally if you are desiring something.
The show itself had beautiful singing and dancing and it was fun to see this part of the Argentine culture. We were promptly taken back to our hotel after the show.

Disruptive staff service. Before the show started (almost 40 minutes late) I chose to pay for the glass of wine we ordered, so that we wouldn't have to during or after the show. The cashier pulled our bill I paid what he asked. Fortunately I asked for a receipt. About half way into the show a staff member interrupted me an asked that we pay our bill. I present the paid receipt, but they insisted there was still a problem. They also stated we owned for our seats (we had purchsed Viator tickets, and presented them when we entered). My wife and I left our seats and followed the staff member to the cashier's station. They finally, reluctantly recognized the paid receipt, and the paid entry payment, however, at that time we had missed 15-20 minutes of the show and were so frustrated we decided to leave. We thus missed at least half the show.

The dancing was excellent and entertaining. But the featured soloist, who had many songs, was in his 70’s and his loud, heavy vibrato was painful on the ears! Viator changed me $37 for this event, but if you just walked up and bought a ticket on site it was only $22. Viator said the show started at 9:30. It actually started at 10:00, so it was a late night before getting back to hotel.

We had a great evening. The shuttle picked us up from the hotel on time and quickly took us to the theater. The theater is gorgeous, art deco style and has a great atmosphere. The dinner was very good as well. We were a group of three and enjoyed the options that night which included fettuccine, beef, and a sweet and sour pork which was delicious. The wait staff was prompt and always made sure everyone was taken care of! The dancers were incredible and the singer was amazing as well! The whole theater even enjoyed a marriage proposal the night we went. After the show we were quickly returned to our hotel. A great experience for anyone wanting to see tango; you haven’t seen tango until you’ve seen it in Argentina! Our group of three speaks English, Argentine Spanish, and Portuguese. So we had no issue communicating; around us other people were also able to easily communicate with the staff in their language of choice! The theater even announces in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. The night we went also had a Chinese announcement.

If you come to Buenos Aires you need to see a Tango show and Tango Portend delivered more than it advertised. The band was a show in itself with extremely talented musicians. The dancers wore beautiful costumes and presented a fabulous show with many different themes ;there was an older soloist who could tell a story. I can't understand Spanish but I got it! There is so much variety in this fast paced show and we could see and hear everything without a problem.
