A captivating day exploring the Sunshine Coast and Noosa Hinterland. Starting with a pickup from your coastal stay, venture into the lush hinterland, first stopping in the dairy-rich Maleny. Here, savour a variety of cheeses at renowned locales like Maleny Food Co or Maleny Cheese Factory, and pick a unique Chocolate Sample pack from Maleny Chocolate Co.

Next, absorb the breathtaking views of the Glass House Mountains, a National Heritage site, before heading to The Barrel @ Clouds Vineyard for a flight of wine, followed by a delightful lakeside two-course lunch at Secrets on the Lake.

The journey continues to the picturesque village of Montville. Spend time exploring its charming boutiques and discovering local artisan crafts in the fresh mountain air.

Your day concludes with a scenic drive back, stopping at the stunning Mapleton Falls Lookout, before returning to your Sunshine Coast and Noosa accommodation, enriched by the day's scenic beauty and culinary discoveries.

1. Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve
Discover the Glass House Mountains from Mary Cairncross Begin your journey at the serene Mary Cairncross in Maleny, nestled on the picturesque Mountain View Rd. Here, you'll be treated to a stunning eastward view from the Blackall Range, overlooking the breathtaking National Heritage-listed Glass House Mountains. This majestic panorama offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and tranquillity.

Enjoy a true cheese experience while you sample the finest Australian and international cheeses made by artisan cheesemakers. You will be provided with a cheese tasting board which would include a selection of cheese plus condiments to include quince jam, baby pickles figs, muscatels on the vine, dried fruit and crusty sourdough. Maleny Food co has a reputation as one of the premier cheese shops in Australia with a selection of more than 250 cheeses.

Our next stop is Maleny a picture-postcard dairy country town. Located 436 m above sea-level on the southern edge of the Blackall Range Maleny attracts painters, craftspeople and potters. During this time, you will enjoy cheese tasting and explore the town at your leisure.

Clouds @ The Barrel Cellar Door offers wine tasting of local award-winning wines. Here you’ll smell and taste local wines whilst identifying the different aromas while being educated on the different grapes grown in our region.

Depending on availability, your gourmet lunch will be at either “Secrets on the Lake” which is set in the rainforest on the side of Lake Baroon. a popular foodie destination near Montville enjoying panoramic views of Lake Baroon, or “The Edge Café Bar and Restaurant” in Montville which is perched on the edge of the escarpment & offers panoramic views of the Sunshine coastline. Regardless of the lunch venue, you’ll enjoy a delicious 2-course meal included in the tour.
6. Montville
When we arrive at the Hinterland Village of Montville and following wine tasting, you can spend free time checking out the delightful shops and boutiques, enjoying this picture-postcard village and its fresh mountain air.
7. Mapleton Falls National Park
Your last stop is the stunning Mapleton Falls Lookout which in on the Blackall Range looking across the Obi Obi Valley.

Loved the food and the shopping stops. Rob was friendly and punctual but we would have liked more local information on the drive.

A wonderful day. Our driver Jeff from Coast To Hinterland Tours was amazing, the knowledge he spoke about was like an encyclopaedia, so very interesting history of the areas, that we went to. Would highly recommended this tour. Food, wine, shops & scenery excellent.

Nice experience however I expected completely different, my partner and I have been on several different wine tours in multiple different countries over the years and this is probably the furthest from a wine tour, we had chocolate at 10:30 am, which was a little too sweet for the morning I’d say, we then had cheese with no pairings of wine (we found this very unusual) we also had a walk through a town for not much other reason than they sold craft things which was a little irrelevant, we were there to visit some vineyards and taste wine, not look around craft shops. We only tasted 4 different wines all day and had a very nice lunch out however I feel like this meal was prioritised a little too much in terms of where the tour money was spent. Over all wouldn’t go on this trip again and neither would I recommend it.

For a first time experience in a part of the country we have never been before, it was a great way to go and see things we never have have found on our own.

Dale our driver and guide was terrific.
The complete package was brilliant the cheese tasting was fabulous,
The barrel venue for the wine tasting was beyond our expectations. We have a sumptuous lunch at the Secret on the lake with amazing view. We highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Great day out - we ended up being a small group of 9

Got picked up at out hotel which was a bonus, the cheese, wine and chocolate stops were just perfect and the cheeses and chocolates were lovely

We stopped for lunch and that was included
I had lamb shanks and my husband had the mussels which were both very nice and there was plenty of food

Absolutely value for money and the places in the hinterland including the two little country towns were cery quaint

Had a wonderful time!
