A wonderful SUP on Lake Arenal. We had a whole mix of weather and enjoyed every minute. From pick up to drop off the company looked after us all the time with a punctual pick up, comfortable ride to the lake, well-tailored outing, snack and drink afterwards and a comfortable transfer back to our hotel, stopping on the way to show us toucans! Highly recommend these guys for a fantastic adventure.

Great Time Kayaking on the lake with Otto!!
Scenery and guiding was excellent 👍🏻 saw many birds and was the perfect was to spend the am. Got a free meringue lesson on the side 😉

I had a three-fer (three activities in one day) with Otto and Kathy. Despite cloudy, rainy weather, I had a great time SUP in the morning and with a waterfall hike in the afternoon with Otto. When weather conditions cut activities somewhat short, we had an impromptu wildlife safari around town and sighted sloths, toucans, and mot-mots while he patiently let me practice my Spanish :-D The cooking class with Kathy at night was so fun and filling and I came away with recipes to share with those back home. The staff and attendees were so friendly and fun. I'd definitely turn to Desafio for more adventures when I return to La Fortuna.

This was SO COOL! I’ve never SUPed before, so to experience it on Lake Arenal was incredible. Our guide, Brian, was lovely. He made the experience even better. The view of the volcano was stunning. I highly recommend this!

I did a few excursions through Desafio during my visit to La Fortuna, but my favorite by far was Stand-Up-Paddleboarding with Francisco! He did a few fun and silly activities in the beginning to get everyone comfortable on the boards, and then took us on a scenic trip across the lake. It was awesome! He was extremely knowledgable about the history and culture about the lake, and it was so cool hearing his stories while paddle-boarding! I definitely recommend to anyone looking to see the volcano from the lake, or just to get a unique experience in La Fortuna!

We did the stand up paddling and it was one of our favorite excursions from our 2 weeks in Costa Rica. We went on a Sunday afternoon and were the only two on the tour and there were not many people out on the lake. The views were absolutely breathtaking. Our guide was funny and informative and had great stories to tell. He struck a perfect balance of guiding us, but then also giving us enough space to roam around. We left wishing the tour was even longer!

We used Desafio for SUP on lake Arenal and transfer to Monteverde with Don Juan coffee tour.
Both trips were exceptional. The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. The activities were great fun and everything was very well organised. Always on time and smooth running.

We used Desafio for all our drivers for a week in Costa Rica, had 5 drivers total plus a boat captain for the taxi-boat-taxi and they were prompt and on time and drove very safely and were in all ways excellent. Always having water bottles ready and free WIFI in vehicle (though in many areas signal was not great but more location than Desafio). Overall I can't speak more highly of the drivers professionalism.
We also did the Stand Up Paddle Board and the Rainforest Mystery tour scheduled through Desafio. Both tours were done very professionally and have no negatives.
I'd recommend Desafio for tours and drivers.

Did the 1/2 day SUP lessons on Lake Arenal ith Desafio in December 2018. It was off-season and kind of a cool blustery day, so we were the only ones on the tour plus the instructor and boat driver.
It was a great way to learn! Instructor was very patient, got me up on the board on the first try and then paddled around with us to help us improve our technique. Arenal is a great place to learn, water was very calm and the views are amazing.
Finished up with beer and pineapple - great day on the water.

After a few rainy days we booked on the sup adventure. The trip itself is on the aranal lake which affords fantastic lake views. We were the only family on the trip so ended up with a private trip. Really easy to do and great fun.
