It was a great tour experience. Patrick our guide was excellent. He took us around town and we went to Major beach to see the airplanes land above us. We spend the afternoon at the breathtaking Mullet bay beach. We had a wonderful day.

We had a wonderful private tour! Nerlene was our tour guide and she was great! We told her what we wanted and she delivered. I feel like we got a little taste of everything, which was what we wanted. She was prompt, so friendly, and accommodating. She had beer, water and sodas on ice that she offered frequently. We were picked up at our resort on the French side and went around the whole island, stopping frequently for photos, sights, and a bit of shopping. We returned just before 2. Price was very reasonable for a private tour. We had a great time. Thank you Nerlene!!

We arrrived in Philipsburg by cruise ship. The only snag was that the directions for meeting are in a document you receive after booking, so be sure to download and save or print that. That was not Sean's fault, just not really clear on the tour discription that you need to do that.

We had a number of places we wanted to hit on both the Dutch and French sides of the island, and Sean did a great job curating this for us. This is one of the reasons we really like doing this sort of tour, as opposed to the big bus tours. In the end it really doesn't cost much more, and you get to do everything you want to do, and none of the stuff you don't, and you don't have to mess around with others who are late getting back to the bus or any of that kind of BS. :)

We visited a few of the beaches, including Maho Beach, where you can watch the planes fly overhead. We wanted to get a good taste (literally) of both sides of the Island, and Sean took us to several great local spots. I had some pastries on the French side that were absolutely DIVINE! If God made anything better than that pistachio cream croissant, He kept it for Himself. We also visited a cheese shop on the Dutch side where I got a very nice selection of absolutely fabulous cheeses, including some sheep's milk cheese and a very nice Guada. I also tasted several varieties of the local rum and took back an ample supply for home. Sean recommended a local establishment over on the French side for lunch, where I had a fantastic portion of fresh carribean seafood. The price was reasonable and the quality was excellent. I don't recall the name of the fish now, but it's a local specialty that I highly recommend.

One other thing we like to do on these trips is to get our passports stamped and get individual ilsand trinkets like shot glasses. Getting your passport stamped is a no-brainer when you fly, but is sometimes overlooked when crusing as cruisers generally don't need to clear airport customs. Sean located an office along our route where we could do that, and arranged to visit before we left. We really appreciated the extra effort on his part to add this special little touch for us.

This review honestly doesn't do Sean and the tour he gave us justice. There are so many things that we wanted to do, and such a short time to visit and do them. There is no possible way your typical big-bus excursion could ever accomplish all of this. By the time we left, we felt like Sean was an old friend whom we would look forward to seeing next time we visit. Our time with him wa enjoyable as the tour itself.

We will definitely visit again, and I will absolutely travel with Sean again as there is much more to see and do here than you can possibly cover in a day. While I will say that Dutch side is clearly the better side of the island in terms of how things are maintained, you definitely need to see both the French and Dutch sides as each has unique and wonderful things to offer.

Although I confirmed pick up time and place in advance, tour was delayed almost 90 minutes. Text message to tour company wasn’t answered. Called Viator that contacted tour company to send guide. Claudia was friendly and accommodating and told us about areas we visited. Tour lasted about 5 hours. Best place we visited wasn’t specifically on the tour, but I requested it—Parrotte Ville Sanctuary. If you like birds, it’s terrific. Although drinks were listed as provided, none were and would have been appreciated.

I had made arrangements in advance for pick up from our hotel. and was told to be ready at 8:45. After waiting an hour, I called Viator and was told the guide was on the way. I thought that the company had forgotten us. Our guide Claudia was friendly and knowledgeable about beaches and towns along our route. She gave us recommendations for beaches (Kim Sha was #1) and restaurants. She walked with me up to the fort and took pictures. Orient Bay Beach was beautiful. One of the highlights of the tour was Parrotte Ville Bird Sanctuary where the admission included bird seed. The colorful birds flew down to eat out of a cup in our hands. This was not on the tour, but Claudia accommodated my request to take my friend and me there. Claudia didn't seem to have anything for us to drink--not even water. Some of this was surprising after reading others' reviews. That's why I think there must have been a miscommunication about our tour that was not the fault of the guide.

We highly recommend Pelican Island Tours! We booked a private tour of St. Martin with Shawn and it was beyond expectations. Shawn brought us to all the usual sites on both the Dutch and French side and many hidden places that only he knew. He shared history, culture and fun facts about the island. The tour was the best of several that we took during a Windstar cruise that left from St. Martin.

Shawn provided a private custom tour for my spouse and I that was not much more expensive than a bus tour; $75 each person. The tour was about 5 hours and Shawn was honest, friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive. This is the only tour a couple or group should do on St Martin.

Nerline was an excellent tour guide taking us anywhere on the island we wanted to go. This is truly a fully custom tour!

We learned about local culture and history as well as spent time doing a bit of shopping and had some lunch.

If shopping isn't your thing and you'd rather beach it, just ask!

Thank you, Nerline!
