The tour started with bring greeted by our lovely and lively tourguide Yu Mei, her passion for drink, food and history making the tour interesting as well as delicious. Our first stop was at Fuglen, a place with a retro look and a facinating history. Here we enjoyed out first coffee, and some amazing Norwegian pastry. On our way to the next place we took a stroll trough a big cemetary where many of the great Norwegians troughout history is buried, Munch and Bjørnson just to name a few. A very nice and serene place dripping of history. Our walked continued down to vibrant Mathallen and our next stop;coffee tasting at Solberg og Hansen. Here we enjoyed a variety of coffees, from bitter to fruity- I found my new favourite coffee brand! We walked along the river to get to our final destination, whilst Yu Mei enthusiastically told us about the history of the streets and buildings we passed by. Our last stop was probably my favourite; a little gem called Krohgs Bar that is easy to pass by if you dont know wat youre looking for. Here we enjoyed even more great coffee and some AMAZING mouthwatering danish open sandwitches in what must be one of the coziest and still stylish coffee places in Oslo. I would recommend this tour to anybody with a craving for great coffee, delicious food, and a curiosity for Oslos history.

I've never been a morning person, so to get out of bed in order to spend a morning walking about didn't at first seem like the best idea. Oh, how wrong I was!
We met our guide, Yu-Mei, at Karl Johan. She was an incredibly likable person, and filled to the brim with knowledge and anecdotes about everything we walked by. It was like walking around with a group of friends, her bubbly personality being both comforting and very entertaining.
First stop was Fuglen, where we got a Norwegian pastry and a nice coffee to start us off. Information about the place, and also the history of coffee in Norway, almost made you feel like a proper local.
A short walk through a cemetery was nice, both for the stories but also to walk off that pastry. It was good, but so large!
Next stop was at Mathallen (I will return!!) for a proper tasting of six different coffees. Very educational!
Then for Krohgs where we had some open sandwiches that were so tasty and a perfect breakfast!
Just enough food to satisfy and just enough coffee for me not to get the jitters!
Loved the guide, loved the food, loved the coffee. A perfect 10!

We really enjoyed the combination of learning more about Oslo while also learning more about coffee. Met our guide Yu Mei on Karl Johans Gate and she led us to a lovely cafe and furniture store, Fuglen, where we started out with our choice of brew and a pastry. As we walked on thru the streets and sights of Oslo, she gave us an eclectic look at both the history and the exciting changes going on as the city continues to revitalize the waterfront and central city. We next stopped in the Mathallen (Food Court) to visit Solberg & Hansen where we learned the value of slurping when tasting coffee. We finished with lunch at a Danish Tapas restaurant. We loved the offbeat character of this tour and the opportunity to get a bit outside the regular tourist track.
