We read a few mixed reviews on this trip but honestly this was an excellent day out and we were all very happy! The half day was the perfect amount of time for our family of 2 adults 2 kids. We got there and had a really yummy BBQ buffet lunch of salads, bread, meat and tropical fruit and listened to some Fijian songs and dances. Then went snorkelling, swimming and kayaking, and for a ride in the glass bottomed boat. Loved the free bar, multiple beers, wines and soft drinks were had! Weather was great too. There was also another bar where you could buy additional snacks and cocktails etc. The only negative is that the pool is a bit small so was quite crowded but the kids still went in and I was very happy swimming in the sea. Bring reef shoes as there is coral around. Definitely loved this trip to South Sea Island and would go again!

We spent half a day at the island. It was a nice stay. The food could have been better.
The island is quite small. Perfect for half a day.

Absolutely loved this experience, so glad that I booked this, was amazing! The staff are just the best and the island is absolutely gorgeous. 100% recommend.

Really disappointed by this trip. We went today, did the half day tour which was meant to depart at 12:25, we waited 1 hour on the port for the boat to arrive, and hundreds of people to disembark, plus their luggage. We didn’t leave for the island until after 1:30. Once on the island we had our lunch, had a 10 minute swim then hired snorkelling gear, since we had a 3 year old with us i snorkelled for 20 minutes and then we heard the call for reef snorkelling, we tried to get our son dressed and into kids club but we missed the boat, they assured us another would be leaving in 15 minutes so we sat and waited.. the boat came back but then they boarded all those travellers leaving early, it did 3 trips then came back full to un load. It was 4:20, kids club closes at 4:30, so we got our son (they never took out another snorkel boat), so we waited 45-1hr just sitting on a rock. We swam for 5 minutes and then heard the 15 minute warning for departure ( at 4:30, when we weren’t meant to board to leave until 5:15). It took a long time to board everyone on, as it was travellers plus staff. We got back to the port at 5:30, when we were told it would be 6. We spent a lot of money to spend 20 minutes snorkelling (with nothing that interesting to see), had 3.5 hours travel time as resort on coral coast. I would avoid the half day if it is so inconsistent with departure times, as we were left with little to no time do anything - we could have stayed at the resort and snorkelled.

Thoroughly enjoyable island day out. Boat ride out was good but you do have to pay for own snacks and drinks. Arrival on island is a little difficult to navigate, with sharp coral sand that cuts your feet so best to wear water shoes.
Buffet lunch on island was nice, plenty food to go round. Free beer wine and soft drinks on island and a stall to purchase ice cream and snacks. Snorkling and semi sub tours were available and enjoyed by all. So much to do or just swim and relax. Highly recommend this island cruise.

Had about a 23-24 hour layover in Nadi. South Sea Cruises was the only one I found that offered a half day cruises (about 5 hours). It ended up being perfect for the short stay. It went smoothly and exceeded all expectations, would recommend if you don't want to spend all day out in the seas and islands.

Gorgeous island with wonderful staff and lots to do. Really enjoyed snorkeling and the glass bottom boat. The food was delicious and the cultural dancers were awesome. Will go back for a full day tour next time.

Great half day cruise - aircon bothways quick trip - best scuba dive with Ratu barefoot diving Fiji - good price, awesome guide and experience - just walk straight into the water from the beach - lots of action shots and videos - treasured experience.

Was a great trip. We did a half day and that was the perfect amount of time.
Got to enjoy the lunch, dancing and singing from the staff, the pool, snorkeling on the beach, glass bottom boat and the guided reef tour. The snorkeling is amazing.
The staff are really friendly and nothing is too much. Would definitely recommend

A well organised tour with lovely and friendly staff from the ticket office in Port Denarau, cruise crew and staff at the island. Everything went as planned and expected. The lunch provided was very good and the available drinks as well. The snorkelling ? gear was great. The shower/changing rooms would benefit from an update (at least more hooks on the wall/door). Overall, a lovely experience!! ?
