We had a wonderful kayak tour with Griff on Maui. He was fantastic - informative, passionate about Hawaii, safety orientated, and fun to be with. My daughter and I were in one kayak, and there were 2 other kayaks (a family of 4) and Griff. It was nice to have a small group. After kayaking to the reef, Griff anchored his kayak and tied ours all up to it and then we went snorkeling.
It was really nice that Griff snorkeled with us, showing us various fish and even a reef shark. We saw several turtles. Visibility was great and it was calm in the morning.
Highly recommend this tour in Maui! My daughter and I both loved it.

What an amazing day! Under our knowledgeable guide Griff, we met and paddled through a beautiful early morning off of Makena Beach in South Maui. I wasn’t sure whether my fear and non-swimmer status would hold me back from enjoying the kayaking and being out in the water. But the waves were smooth, and Griff entertained us talking about the whales and their habitat so there was no time to be fearful.
My brother took the back seat and was the muscle behind our strokes and I was able to keep up. The pace was great, not fast or hectic — it was just amazing to be out on the ocean. With our guide’s patience we paddled out to an area putting us between two sets of mother and baby whales. I must admit it was so cool. I would definitely recommend trying this out!

We had a great experience with Aloha Kayaks. Griff was a great, engaging, and formative guide - I loved his storytelling. He took us to an area without any other groups and jumped in the water with us to point out different wildlife. I would definitely go with Aloha Kayaks again if we're in Maui.

Had a terrific trip with Griff! Our group was grandparents, parent, kids ages 14, 12, and 8. Griff was extremely patient and informative especially with kids with little kayak/snorkeling experience. It was a great experience. Grandparents have kayaked with Aloha Kayaks on 3 trips, and will be back again!

What an amazing experience for our family of four! The weather and ocean both cooperated and we had an awesome time with Griff. He was so great at sharing the history and culture that makes the Hawaiian islands so very special. We went with another family for four so 8 people plus griff. Would absolutely do this again and hope to return in February to do this trip but to see whales. This trip we saw multiple green sea turtles, dozens of different fish, and a very large zebra striped eel. Such a great way to enjoy the unique ocean ecology!

We found Aloha Kayaks in our Lonely Planet guide and even though our book is 8 years out of date I am so glad we stuck with this outfitter. My family of 4 plus another young couple made a small group and Griff I think has been the best kayaking guide we have ever had and we have done a lot of kayaking. He was fun, informative, respectful of the Hawaiian culture and just a totally lovely gentleman. We loved our gentle kayak, saw plenty of turtles, an octopus and many reef fish. Griff was also very educational on the islands, history, economy as well as ensuring he advised everyone how to interact safely without damaging this fragile and beautiful environment. Utterly nice guy. I would thoroughly recommend this small business as opposed to the bigger companies. Such a wonderful morning.

Spectacular! Been out two guided tours now with Aloha Kayaks Maui, and both have been amazing.
Griff provides snorkel gear, a dry bag, life jackets and a mid kayak snack. He is an excellent guide, got in the water with us both times and pointed out different types of sea life. We saw all kinds - colorful fish big and small, turtles, octopus, etc. We learned a lot, not only about sea life, but also about the history of Hawaii and life on Maui.
On the paddle back, spotted a large pod of spinner dolphins and they swam around us. Unforgettable, and an incredible way to start the morning in Maui. We will definitely be back for a third tour next time!

Aloya Kayak Maui is 100% great because of Griff! He does great job taking care of his clients and making sure the adventure is safe, enjoyable and a great learning experience! He is also the whale whisper for anyone looking to see and experience whales, Griff just knows how to find them and puts into a great position to experience and enjoy the local wild life. We have gone out with Griff 3 times and he never disappoints. He mixes in teaching and talking about the wildlife, the environment and most importantly the Hawaiian culture and language. I always learn something new! Highly recommend an intimate and very personalized experience, again just AWESOME!

This was such a special experience and my absolute favorite activity during my trip to Maui. Griff was a fantastic guide, teaching me all about Maui, Hawaiian history, and the fun fish and creatures we saw in the ocean. So personable, personal, and one of the best ever days. 10/10 will book again on my next Maui trip!
