Jose was our tour guide and he has a gift! My husband is a firefighter and he does not relax. Somehow, Jose was able to hone in on that and create an environment that broke through everything my husband carries with him so that by the end of the tour I saw a peace on my husbands face that rarely makes an appearance. I watched Jose with the younger people on our tour who were hesitant about some of the more adventurous aspects of our tour and I was amazed at his gentleness and encouragement though he never pushed too hard. He was knowledgable and fun. If you get a chance to tour with Jose, you are in for a treat!

Wow, what a great trip! Our guides were so fun and accommodating. Loved that they grew up in the area and provide a lot of background on the area. The cenote cave was amazing, we were not sure about that part but were so glad we went. The water was not too cold and it was a very unique experience. Thanks, Ricardo and Fabian! They also took great photos of us. Highly recommend.

Great tour. Swimming and snorkeling in the cenotes and cave was amazing. Our tour included lunch at the end of the three swimming stops and lunch was delicious. The black beans and cochinita pibil were my favorite. Our tour guide Armando was great.

Underwhelming. Nothing to see here. Don’t bother. Go to nearby Playa Akumal and swim with the turtles and have lunch/dinner on the beach

Our guide was outstanding. He read what sort of a day we were looking for and nailed it. He picked us up at our casa and we headed to Yal Ku. He walked us through what our day was going to look like, and in the water we went. On the way out, the fresh and saltwater mix gently guided us out of the lagoon toward the ocean. We saw beautifully colored fish of every size and shape. The water was crystal clear. As we got closer to the ocean we saw numerous turtles as well as some rays and a jellyfish. We then drove to a nearby cenote and entered the cave area which also had some of the bluest water I'd ever seen. It was an awesome experience, and I would highly recommend it!

Fabian was perfect guide. Prompt and delightful.

He took us to places off the beaten path and showed us the most beautiful underwater caves. He was patient and helpful, and let us enjoy ourselves without interference.

He took underwater pictures of us which were wonderful!

He provided Mayan history, and showed us artifacts, fossils and other things we would have missed!

Highly recommended!!

Lagoon is awesome! Plenty of places to leave your personals behind and go snorkeling. Plenty of fish to see and water warmer than Caribbean. Only snorkeled but other sites to see. Closes early around 4pm so don’t go too late. A good 2 hour adventure.

Yal-Ku lagoon is a very calm, warm and beautiful snorkeling experience! Lots of colorful fish to see and a relaxing swim around the lagoon. The cenote snorkel is a totally different environment but very beautiful and definitely worth checking out.

Booked with Fabian through ExperienciaAkumal and had an excellent experience, he was very knowledgeable about the area and focused on safety and comfort. Would definitely recommend Fabian again!

They communicated very well by email, confirming and setting up the time, and open to adding a couple with us. It was only the 4 of us with Henry, who did a great job guiding us through the lagoon. Lots of fish to see and easy to snorkel, the equipment was good as well. I would do it again!
