In our experience we visit places not visited by the masses, we will take you to the town of Mano Juan, the only places inside the island where theres people leaving in a small community. Here we will know a community leader who run the turtle conservation area, we will have the time for learn about Turtle and how important they are for the planet. In Mano Juan, we will serve you a breakfast, with sandwiches, juices and fruits.
After Mano Juan Beach, We will be visiting a secret location beach, with beautiful landscapes, white sands beaches, perfect beach for jump in the water and enjoy the Caribbean Sea of Dominican Republic.
After we will continue to the famous Abanico Beach, here we will enjoy a private self service buffet lunch with Dominican Food. After lunch we will continue to Palmilla Beach to The Natural pools to see star fish.Snorkeling

If you can only do 1 excursion on your trip, choose this one. History, turtle sanctuary, starfish, snorkeling, island hopping, boat ride, beach time, local cuisine, local people. It is a long day, but goes by quickly when you are doing all the activities. Married couple, 38 years old, we enjoyed it. Little bit of everything.

This was a perfect day away from the bustle of our resort. It was a very early morning which is tough on vacation and even though I had read all of the positive reviews, I had no idea what to expect. It was an absolutely phenomenal day! We arrived at Saona Island before all of the other boats and the 1st 2 stops were an absolute dream. Breakfast in Mano Juan and the turtle sanctuary were incredible. The 2nd stop at the private beach was easily the most fantastic 1 hour of our trip! We loved Saona island and Melvin and his crew were the best! They have a true passion for what they do..it wasn't just about beach and swimming but also an education on history and conservation. Breakfast and lunch were included and incredible! We were with our 2 older teen kids and they loved it too. Spend the extra money and take this tour!!!!

Great experience overall and I wouldn't hesitate to book it. It took 3 hours from the time we were picked up until we arrived to our first stop, some people in our group spent 40 minutes more than us in the morning commute. Just something to take into consideration if you're traveling with kids. First two stops, which were in quieter places, were our favourite, at least until a party boat came over and ruined the tranquility.
Bring towels and sunscreen with you.

Easily the best excursion of our honeymoon - hands down!! This was a true full day trip (we were picked up at 6am and got home closer to 4pm) and we loved every second of it. Melvin and his crew do a fantastic job of communicating with everyone throughout the day and shared a lot of cool history about the culture and each spot we stopped at.
Melvin made us breakfast, served up juice and rum drinks, and lunch for the whole boat! Another bonus - we were always 15-30 minutes ahead of the rest of the boats getting to each stop!
I truly can't recommend Melvin's tour enough - if you're looking for a smaller group excursion, amazing stops (turtle sanctuary, beautiful beaches, etc), with a great and caring crew then book this trip!

The tour was wonderful. The pickup was good. In the car, the guid provided us some history background about Dominique. The Saona island is so amazing and we got to go to three beaches. The lunch was outstanding. BBQ chicken and foiled fish were very good. The fruit drinks are real and very tasty. At the end. The boat stopped somewhere where we did snorkeling.

Exactly as advertised. We saw several beaches on a beautiful island. Crystal clear water with soft sand. Breakfast, lunch, and drinks provided. Melvin taught us some history and helped us appreciate the beauty and culture of the island. Highly recommend!! Very fun trip.

We booked through viator. We had an amazing day. Melvin, Marino and the crew were always there to help and inform. Will definitely recommend them if you want a small group (we were two groups of 13 with Melvin and Marino each leading a group), not loud, relaxed! Since our Airbnb is not on the main resort route, the pick up and drop off were a bit tardy.

Melvin is a great host the tour itinerary is perfect for small families looking to avoid the huge crowds. It starts earlier and for good reason! Food and beaches/locations visited were all great.

Our family of 10 booked Melvin’s small group tour of Saona Island after reading all of his other incredible reviews. Our day was truly incredible and did not disappoint in any way. Melvin communicated about everything ahead of time through WhatsApp, and made sure all of our questions were answered. The locations he took us too were unparalleled in their beauty and seclusion, and we created unforgettable family memories along the way (most notably with the starfish).
Even if you are a smaller group going with others, I still highly recommend this tour because it will not have more than 14 people in total. He has dedicated chairs and space on the one crowded beach, so you never feel overwhelmed even at the peak of tourist season. I cannot praise Melvin and his crew enough, and you will not want to miss this small group experience.
